Abstract
The purpose of the study is to understand blockchain technology and its significant impact in
administration in India.
Introduction
Over the years, the transformation brought to the world by internet has unlocked a remarkable
potential with the introduction of cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrencies and its usage have broken many
barriers, calling it universal money . The importance of cryptocurrency and its popularity grew rapidly
because of its swiftness, transparency, security and accessibility breaking the continental barriers.
Security is the one of the concerned factors while working with internet. Money, a sensitive element has
to be dealt with all the more meticulousness on internet. Bitcoin, a famous cryptocurrency existing
today has gained more reliability due to its effective security system and transparency.
The Blockchain technology is one of the most significant technologies in current day which establishes
the transparency of the bitcoin. The utilization of Blockchain technology is starting to sprawl into other
sectors rather than confining to cryptocurrency system. The power of the transparency contained in
blockchain is the prime reason behind various organizations taking it and implementing on various
problems and products.
What is this blockchain?
Block meaning set of something and chain which represents a series of something. That something is the
data. It can be called together as a set of data which links itself to similar set of previous data forming a
chain. A very important factor that has to be noted here is the transparency. The transparency is
provided by the open accessibility of these data collectively.

These data are nothing but the transactional data of the currency between the people, in case of
cryptocurrency. Generally these data contain the information about the flow of the transaction between
any two. This set of data links itself to the previous data forming a serious, like a ledger which linked to a
network, providing any person to access this data. Information on blockchain are continuously recorded
and shared in the network. Because of its public accessibility and verifiable records the blockchain is

Block chain in administration
Administrative sector in every organization plays a vital role in the transformation of any organization.
The downfall or the rise of any organization is determined by the effective team management. The
information of any organization has to be secured at any cost. There should exist two way
communications from top to bottom and vice versa.
Similar to an organization, the development of any county is determined by the governance. For a
complete transformation there should exist a proper flow of communication from the top to the
grassroots and vice versa. During the process of communication there exists a loss of data. In developing
country, sometimes the data is sold or bought. The financial crisis existing developing countries push
people to do so. To avoid such situations and illegal actives done with the data it is advisable to bring in
a technology that can solve this issue. Blockchain technology is the only technology that can monitor the
proper flow of data.
Having understood the concept of blockchain in the field of cryptocurrency it is easy to comprehend its
application. The effectiveness and efficiency of the blockchain technology aid in the administration
sector to monitor the flow of data. Since tampering of data is highly impossible the authenticity of the
documents that are being submitted can be considered accurate. And the data that are recorded in the
public database can help the people to view the stream of data that was passed on.
Data related to the assets and personal identities are considered sensitive. Land registration is one
significant sector that demands serious attention. Introduction of blockchain into sector like this
prevents much of fraudulence in developing country like India. Identity management is another
important sector that demands a close inspection in the digital world.
Digital India is transforming India. The growing data increases the need for a proper data management
and security. Implementation of blockchain technology in the fields that is more likely to face tampering

of data will help securing the data. Disputes occurring based on the issues relating to land and other
assets can be avoided to a greater extend.
States that are planning to implement blockchain technology
According to a recent news, Andhra Pradesh has become the first state in the country to pilot
blockchain technology in two departments and plans to deploy it across the administration, said Chief
Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on 9 October 2017.
The state launched pilot projects for land records and transport. State Information Technology Minister
Nara Lokesh said the technology was required to prevent tampering of land records, which had already
been digitised and placed online. Similarly, the technology is used in Transport Department to
streamline titles of the vehicles.
Stating that Andhra accounts for 60 percent of Aadhaar-based transactions and extensively uses
technology for delivery of services, Lokesh said the state required blockchain to protect the IT assets.
Conclusion
To summarize, this paper gives an overview about blockchain and its impact in governance. Block chain
technology is very much useful to India. It can be brought under Digital India so that it is implemented in
all states after a study. Blockchain technology is a revolution and it will bring a revolution to India and it
is a mechanism to bring everyone to the highest degree of accountability.
