  13. Identify Project Aims Cost it - Plan it For Example: A Photograph Collection needs care What can be achieved? By when, by who, with what funds? 1. Assess significance - identify scanning priorities 2. Digitise items identified as significant 3. Record provenance – cataloguing 4. Publish to the internet to be shared with the community and 5. Ensure physical collection is protected in archival storage.

  1. The Walgett District Historical Society applied for a Presentation project for the development of a permanent museum exhibition of Paddle Wheel River Boat and Barwon / Namoi river history at Walgett. The name of the project was the name of the paddle vessel which may be considered offensive today. The ‘Wandering Jew’. Funding was for the Society to build a ship and town model in order to assist with story-telling of the era. These models feature in a display which also includes photos, stories interpretive information and more.
