18. COMPARISON BETWEEN

Employee cost is only around 15% to sales. Salaries
and wages were paid on a settlement basis during
that year.
Employee cost during the year is around Rs. 74 Crores
which is the major expenditure to TAMIN. This works out
to around 40% of sales turnover.
No provision for gratuity contribution. Provision for contribution to gratuity is around Rs. 17.17
crores which is a highest ever contribution in TAMIN’s
history.
Depreciation and interest debitable was marginal. Depreciation and interest on foreign currency loan plays
a considerable role since the new factory has been
established at Melur which is debitable around
Rs. 7.00 crores.
Other Income i.e., interest on fixed deposit and
Income from investments comes around
Rs. 4.20 crores which is a considerable part in profit.
Percentage works out to 10.45% to sales.

2.79% to sales.
Sales turnover during the year 1993-1994 is
Rs. 40.20 Crores. However profit before tax is
Rs. 21.50 crores which are 53.48% on sales.
Sales turnover during the year 2013-2014 is Rs. 188.87
crores whereas the profit before tax is only 24.69 crores
which are only 13% on sales. 18
