Self Regulation is implemented through PPC (Press Complaint
Commission): which is an independent body, which is made
up and sponsored by the press industry. PCC has its own code
of practice, also its Editors and owners (gate keepers).

PCC CODE OF PRACTICE
- Accuracy
- The right to reply for individual that are written about
- The need to distinguish clearly between comment and facts
- Private and harassment
- Cheque- book journalism
- Intrusion in to grief or shock
- Identifying relatives and friends of convicted individuals
- The reporting of issues relating to children
- Use of clandestine, means to obtain information
- The definition of the public interest
Statuary regulation is implemented through the
   Laws and Acts.
 Statuary Regulation
   - The Official Secrets Act
   - Libel & Defamation Laws
   - Contempt Of Court
   - Anti Terrorist Act
   - Data Protection Act
   - Obscene Publication Act
   - Blasphemy Act
   - Racial & Religious Hatred Act
   We live in a Democratic society, the press is
   considered to be a forth estate, working as a
   watchdog, holding the powerful into account.
