3. Sustainability Meeting the need of present
generation without compromising the ability
of future generation to meet their own
needs.
Sustainable Architecture is the use of
design strategies that minimize the negative
environmental impact of buildings by
efficiency and moderation in the use of
materials, energy, development space and
the ecosystem at large.
4. Increase of population day by day.
People migrating from rural to urban with hope.
High Energy and Natural resources are consumed due to
increase in population.
Depletion of natural resources.
Effect on Bio diversity.
5.
6. The basic objectives of sustainability are to
reduce consumption of non-renewable
resources, minimize waste, and create
healthy, productive environment.
EXAMPLES:.
Wind Turbines
Solar Panels
SDD is the development that meets the need of present
generation without compromising the ability of future generation to
meet their own needs.
7.
8. Green building or sustainable building
refers to a structure which are both
Environmently responsible and use of efficient
resources.
The primary goal of sustainable
construction is to reduce the industry's impact
on the environment.
9. There are a number of motives for building green, including
environmental, economic, and social benefits.
It often emphasizes taking advantage of Renewable resources
10.
11. Structural Efficient Design
In the structural design process, the objective is to minimize the total
environmental impacts on society which are associated with life.
Energy Efficient Design
Building Appliances AC & refrigerators all these produce green house
gasses. In energy efficient design Interior designing Plays a major role:-
Use of effective insolation materials
Use of solar plates or cells
Use of carpets
Use of light color in interior side
12. Water Efficient Design
We have to design the water system inside the interiors as per our
demand. Because there are shortage of water these days.
We have to adopted a rainwater harvesting system
Use of leakage proof taps
Use of high efficient nozzles
Use of Low flow toilets
We can save fifty percent of the water a day using this method
13. Material Efficient Design:-
Material should be Eco-friendly.
Use of Bamboo in flooring and interiors
Use of Eco Friendly Paints
Materials should be use that can be recycled and can
generate surplus amount of energy.
An example of this are solar power panels, not only they provide
lightening but they are also a useful energy source.
Us of sustainable furniture(recycled metal,recycled plastic,Bamboo
wool bricks:-
Wool brick is a sustainable Material.
Wool bricks are 37 percent stronger than
traditional bricks, and they have greater
cold and wet resistance.
These bricks are not fired, and
production requires much less energy.

15. Development of LEED began in 1993, spearheaded by Natural
Resources Defense Council spearheaded by (NRDC) senior
scientist Robert K. Watson. JD Polk co-founder of Solar Cells.
LEED Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
Why LEED:
Reducing environmental impact
Reducing operating costs
Increasing occupant comfort and
productivity
16. PGBC is a nonprofit organization committed to a prosperous
and sustainable future for our nation through cost, energy,
water and natural resource efficient green buildings and
communities.
GBC comes directly under the umbrella of World Green
Building Council
The World GBC is a union of 98 national Green Building
Councils
