Announces Partnership with Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS (Nov. 3, 2012) – The LGBT Academy of Recording Arts (LARA) proudly announces a partnership with
Las Vegas for the 8th Annual OUTMUSIC Awards. The biggest night in LGBT music and entertainment, the annual
awards show celebrates the best recordings, performers and industry contribution in music each year with a message
of inclusion, equality and creative achievements. Las Vegas is one of the world’s top LGBT destinations making it the
perfect fit for the 2012 OUTMUSIC Awards.

next three years,” said Diedra Meredith, chairwoman and CEO of LARA and the OUTMUSIC Foundation. “Our
partnership with Las Vegas gives the Academy a warm welcome to reflecting the city’s commitment to inclusion and

The OUTMUSIC Awards’ move to Las Vegas is the result of a three-year partnership with Caesars Entertainment,
parent company of Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, which has received a perfect rating from the Human Rights
Campaign’s annual Corporate Equality Index. The night of extravagance and unforgettable memories will be
presented at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on, Sunday December 16, 2012, hosted by Media
Personality Lillian McMorris.
Guests of the 8th Annual OUTMUSIC Awards three-day weekend spectacular will spend three days celebrating in the
heart of Las Vegas, steps from a variety of shopping experiences at the Miracle Mile Shops and a short walk from
Crystals at CityCenter, where opulence and style are unparalleled.
The world’s entertainment capital, Las Vegas is renowned for opulent dining, shopping, nightlife and more. According
to Community Marketing Inc.’s 2011-2012 16th Annual LGBT Tourism Study, Las Vegas was named the second
most-visited LGBT destination, one of the most gay-friendly destinations in the world and personal favorite by 10,000
respondents surveyed.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the OUTMUSIC Awards Event Passes will benefit Southern Nevada
Association of Pride, Inc. (SNAPI), Aids for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN), Human Rights Campaign, Las Vegas Steering
Committee and Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada.
