PERSONAL STATEMENT
I am a very creative and artist person as I always have ideas. With the skills I already have I know that I can become a great animator.
I have been inspired by animations and animated films. A big influence has been Tim Burton’s “The nightmare before Christmas” as I
love this film and like the art style used throughout the film. The film made me try out stop motion animation and I found it was great
to work with and hope that I will make some of my future animation a stop motion. I have also been inspired by animators on the
internet like Egoraptor, Hotdiggedydemon and Cartoonhangover. I follow these animators as I find them entertaining and I hope that
one day I can do the same in my animations bringing laugher and happiness. I am applying to university to gain more qualifications to
2. better my career and also skills.
I am good at drawing and have always drawn since I can remember. My own cartoon characters style, and have been drawing digital
art for 2 years. I have excellent computer skills. I have made a lot of animation projects in college as I have made 2D and 3D
animations. My 2D animation was about a banana with underpants on, in which I got an award for the best 2D animation of 2013 in
Eccles college. This project involved lots of technical challenges. I had to design a user interface screen that was capable of providing
navigation though the game but also be entertaining. I have done several 3D animations in college, where a camera would fly though
a 3D image of a post-apocalyptic city I have made. Another 3D animation I have made was where a character is dancing around the e6
radio logo. I found the 3D animation more intense than the 2D but I still found it interesting and I persistence will pay off. In my own
time I plan out animations of my own. I like to draw digital art and maybe see if I could create them into animations by moving the
eyes so they blink or the mouth like they are talking. I am really enjoying the course and have great tutors to guide me.
I am ideal animator with determination, I can prove my skills are up to date. I am honest reliable person, punctual, as I have 100%
attendance at college. Time keeping skills are also excellent.
I can meet deadlines, and always work to the best of my ability at all times. I always take pride in my work at all times Perfectionist,
with a keen eye for detail. When I was younger I had a problem hearing making learning a little more difficult for me but that didn’t
stop me from becoming what I want to be today.
I did work experience over the summer holidays with an intruder alarm company. My duties were: maintaining equipment, installing
and fitting equipment like CCTV, and monitors, door access, on large company buildings. I found this interesting but I think I will stick
to becoming an animator as I intend to be a great asset to any animation company in the future.
