 In humans genes that determine sex are
  in a pair of chromosomes (gnomosomes),
  the other 22 pair are called autosomes.
 Males have 22 pairs of autosomes and XY
  chromosomes, while females have 22
  pairs of autosomes and XX
  chromosomes.
   Supposing the case of a gene not determining a sex
    characteristic. However this gene is located on the X
    chromosome. The case of this chromosome it’s said to
    be sex linked ( this make Hemophilia and color
    blindness )

   In this case, it can only be transmitted from father to
    son.
 We consider a rare disease, one that have
 low incidance in the population, it isn´t
 very common.
   ALD is a genetic disease due to a X-link gene
    manifestation.

   It’s due to a abnormal accumulation of fats in the
    central nervous system and it causes the loss of myelin
    surrounding the axon of important neurons.

   The signs and symptoms are: Ataxia, abnormal
    behaviour, seizures, dementia… it conclude with dead.

   The probability of having a child with ALD 25%.
It propagates electrical impulses along neurons.
 Fatty acids: Long chains of Hydrocarbons
 Fatty acid chains with single bonds
  between the carbon atoms surrounded
  by hydrogen atoms are termed saturated,
  but if there are double bond between
  them, the chain is termed unsaturated.
 One  single bond: monounsaturated
 Two or more bonds: polyunsaturated
 Saturated fats are present in oil, meat…
 Monounsaturated fats are present in
  sunflower oil…
 Polyunsaturated fats are present in oily
  fish…
 It’s   an X-linked recessive disease.

 Itreduces bloods clot formation in
  trauma and heavy bleeding. Female
  carriers it.
 Itoccurs when males have 47
  chromosomes( XXY)
 Lack of hair
 Increase od breast tissue(Gynecomastia)
 Undeveloped testes(Hypogonadism)
 Lacking of sexual
  differentiation(Eunuchoid)
