What is the “internet of things” & Why Internet of things Syllabification (Inter•net of things) noun A proposed development of the Internet in which everyday objects have network connectivity, allowing them to send and receive data: “If one thing can prevent the Internet of things from transforming the way we live and work, it will be a breakdown in security.” The Internet of Things (IoT) is a scenario in which objects, animals or people are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction Iot has always been a major area of interest for me and therefore, given the opportunity, I would like to take this subject up for practical study.

Household appliances Thermostats (e.g., Nest) Wearable computing Vehicles Farm crops and animals 30B devices by 2020 Need for IPv6 Low-cost platforms In the near future, say the next 5 years, IoT will revolutionize the world of connection management. The Internet & the wireless technology will connect different sources of information such as sensors, mobiles, cars etc. in an ever tight manner. IoT will change the way information from such sources are handled at present.

Also, another field which attracts me is the application of IoT and Wireless solutions in the Medical field.
