Activities

3. The Sinaut Spectrum is running on Solaris platform version 7 and Oracle database. 4 controls Centre (one National
Control Centre and one regional control Centre is a Mirror of the National control Centre and it is a Backup of the National
Control Centre) The database maintenance is done only in these 2 locations. The Power applications such as Load Flow
Forecast, AGC (Automation Generation Control) and Network Applications are running in these two Control Centres. 129
RTU (Sicam eRTU) are connected to these control Centres) among them 26 330kV that comprise 14 Generating Stations.
The rest are 132kV and 33kV Stations that are connected to Control Centres Via Radio Communication, PLC or Fiber
optic.

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) provides electricity and water for Dubai. In anticipation of
deregulation, state-owned DEWA segregated their businesses into two parts: a Distribution Control Center
(DCC) and a Transmission Control Center (TCC). The DCC’s Global Ranger System (GRS) had exceeded its
lifespan and needed to be exchanged, and the TCC wanted to strengthen its reliability and availability. What’s
more, both businesses wanted to increase their operational efficiency through state-of-the-art energy
management systems with advanced application functions.

The Nigeria Transmission Development Project has four control Centres (One National control Centre, and 3
regional Control Centres). One of the regional controls Centre run as a backup of the National control Centre.
These control Centers are interconnected with fiber optic communication (Siemens SUTPASS
hiT7020equipements located in the Controls Centers and repeater stations) and managed by a transmission
management System.
The Multisite feature is configured for the four Control Centre.
The Archives, reports, and power applications features can be accessed via web application (Empuron) and these
reports can be converted in Excels (timesheets or graphics.
A Barco Wall is installed in the National Control Centre where you can view and monitor the National transmission
grid and projects any needed and vital information for the network analysis.
