4. 01 THE INTERNET IS EVERYTHING
Asaleaderinthetechworld,Mondoreportsthatoneofthehottesttrendsinthe
future of IT is the Internet of Things (IoT). A concept that enables technology
to serve us in new, advanced personal ways, at all times. The Internet of Things
is a network of power, a world that allows everything to be connected and in
communication with each other. In 2015, it’s projected that there will be nearly
5 billion connected devices, that’s approximately 3.4 per person. By 2020, that
number soars to 6.5 per person and 25 billion connected devices.
“The Internet of Things (IoT)
is more than just alarm clocks
that check your schedule or
refrigerators that Tweet. It’s
about user personalization
and how to capitalize on data
intelligence. Our clients in the
advertising industry are using
predictive algorithms to create
personalized ads from patterns
in user behavior. We’re seeing
an ever-increasing need for
software professionals who
are technically proficient
with building real-time APIs,
mobile connect-ability, cloud
storage, machine learning, as
well as emerging virtual and
augmented reality platforms.”

on organizations in 2015. Instead of just emphasizing the importance of devices alone, the context of computing will
continue to expand to both mobile and wearable technologies, making user end-points more challenging to manage.
Ideally, content and applications will be accessed across multiple devices, concurrently.
6. 03 A NEW DIMENSION
Research forecasts the global 3-D printing market will grow to over $16 billion by 2018. This shift places 3-D printing
as one of the biggest expansions within the IT industry - notably within the mass manufacturing, biomedical, and
environmental sectors. Costs continue to be relatively low and allow for companies to decrease their spend.
Streamlining prototypes will also prove to be of value in creating improved designs.
BIOMEDICAL:
Bio-printingisgrowingincrediblyfast,asink-jetprintersareableto

Institute: cell creation. Block Cell Printing allows 100% of cells to
live, up from the 50-80% survival rate from the current process.
MASS MANUFACTURING:
While mass production remains one of the biggest obstacles
to 3-D printing, technology is rapidly evolving and allowing for
production in food, machinery, electronics, toys, and automotive
parts.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
3-D printing is reducing the carbon footprint by having fewer
materials go to waste, creating products with longer life spans,
allowing for localized production sites, and enable companies to
make products on a more as-needed basis.
7. 04 THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING
Or in the case of IT, the proof is first in the big questions and big answers, and then in the big data. Data doesn’t lie,
but in this circumstance, the story lies in what that data represents. Analytics are embedded everywhere, and every
organization needs to be equipped to manage all of the data collected. What story does your data tell?
204 million emails sent
2+ million Google queries
277,000 logins
100,000 tweets
47,000 apps downloaded
1.3 million video views100+ new users
AGENT INSIGHT: “The first step to establish, expand or mature your business, is to understand the data behind it. Without a
resource to interpret analytics, you’re already one step behind the competition.”

8. 05 THE BIGGEST DISRUPTER IN IT HISTORY
Mondo, along with major industry leaders, predicts that the smart machine will ruffle the feathers in IT, creating a huge
impact.Breakthroughtechnologieswillallowasystemtolearnandunderstanditsenvironmentandactindependently.
Machines will continue to evolve, producing self-driving cars, progressive robotics, and virtual helpers. The new wave
of smart machines is predicted to have an impact on personal and professional lives.

9. 06 HEAD IN THE CLOUDS, FEET ON THE STREETS
Mobile and cloud computing are uniting and will continue to prove elastic. Applications will be built with internal and
external capabilities, and will be delivered to any device, emphasizing the importance of synchronized content that’s
multi-platform centric - allowing users to simultaneously use applications on various devices.
AGENT INSIGHT: “Over 75% of job seekers use mobile applications in their search because they’re easy to use and a dis-
creet format. Additionally, candidates with healthcare, finance, and IT backgrounds rank as the most active in mobile searches.
If you’re looking to captivate anyone from these three sectors, consider optimizing your website’s careers section for mobile.”

10. 07 GUARDS UP
As it’s impossible to have total control over IT security, it will be top of mind to find the most sophisticated risk
assessment options and tools. It’s crucial to continually prevent, detect, and respond in an immediate fashion, and as
dataisreadilyavailable,havingasecurityplanisamust.It’sunreasonabletotryandregulatetheInternet,butregulating
on a company level is manageable. As different data types produce different risk levels - it’s important to know how
much risk you’re okay with and find what’s most important in your data, protect what’s critical, and reject the rest.

11. 08 FASHIONABLY TECH, TECHNICALLY FASHION
The future of fashion has a lot to offer, especially in wearable technology. As consumers become more technically
astute, there’s no surprise fashion must follow in suit. Notable acts like Google Glass and the iWatch are still on trend,
but what’s really making a splash are the ever more practical options - accessories and apparel that simplify and
monitor your everyday life.

A VITAL PATCH: AmpStrip is an adhesive patch that sticks to your chest, monitors your vitals,
and then pushes the data to your smart phone.
BIG DINNER DELIGHT: The first smart belt has arrived. Belty is self-adjusting and fits to your
waistline in real-time. Regardless of what the scale says, Belty’s got a hold on your pants.
FANCY FEET: Whether an active runner or avid walker, Sensoria is the smart sock with your feet
top of mind. Paired with an anklet that detects activity based on pressure signals sent from

LOST AND FOUND: For a closet large or small, losing that favorite wardrobe staple is bound to
happen. Asher Levine partnered with Bluetooth solutions to create tracking chips that can be
located by the TrackR application.
12. 09 THE WEB-FACING FUTURE
Web-scale IT isn’t something that happens overnight, but as more companies
begin to look to the IT Giants of the world, they’ll transform their ideologies
and strategies to build similar applications and infrastructures. Leading the

13. 10 THE UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE
We may not have flying cars but the future of flying robots is here. In 2015, drones will come in all shapes and sizes with
varying technologies - some flying themselves, others being remotely controlled from the ground. While many drones
are used for hobbies like photography, their value to the business market is already in the works. There’s still debate
around the security of drones. Stay tuned to see what the future holds for these unmanned vehicles.
FOLDABLE DRONES:
The AirDog follows its user from afar all while being operated from a wrist
controller, with the added benefit of foldability. It can fold up to fit in a
backpack.
ADDED PROPELLERS:
Whilemanydronesareconsideredquadcopters,operatingwith4propellers,
the Hexo+ has 6 - giving an extra bonus of additional lift.
SAVING FACE:
Intel is making drone technology powered by a camera that alerts the drone
when you’re walking toward it, allowing it to move out of the way.
CAMERA READY:
The photo and video worlds will see more eyes in the sky with Yuneec’s
Q500 Typhoon. This drone is capable of shooting HD video from up above,
while its users keep cool on the ground.
PETITE PALS:
New to the market in 2015 will be the Zano, a tiny drone that fits in the palm
of a user’s hand. Don’t let the size fool you, the Zano can also fly itself and is
relatively inexpensive .
14. 11 SDX: SOFTWARE-DEFINED, ONCE AGAIN
Software-defined networking and security have advanced, and the emphasis is now on the ability to scale up or
down quickly. This means a change from a static environment to a dynamic one. Software-defined infrastructures,
or SDIs, are forecasted to greatly impact enterprises and Mondo estimates that 60% of CIO budgets will be spent on
infrastructure and operations over the next 12-18 months. The software-defined trend, or SDx, allows storage, servers,
andnetworkstobecontrolledbysoftware-meaningthatanyonecanconnecttoanything,anywhere.SDIswillalterthe
ways strategies take shape and consider what’s most important for specific business demands.
The SDx market is expected to reach $2.3
billion by 2016, up from $200 million today.
60% of CIO budgets will be spent on
infrastructure and operations in the next
12- 18 months.
15. 12 A CONTEXT STATE
According to the most recent Mondo findings, context-rich systems will prove to be top of mind for IT strategy in
2015. The ability for systems and applications to understand their users will promote responses that are contextually
accurate and appropriate. The capability to connect and interact with people internally and externally alike, while
spanning different networks, is a way of life now, and it’s one that also demands secure systems. Implementing
systems that are sophisticated in identifying users by their context will also mean implementing systems that will
protect vulnerable business intel.
16. 13 THE AUTONOMOUS AUTOFlying cars? Not yet, but the major auto companies predict self-driving, or robotic vehicles, to make their way down
the road in the very near future. While the fully-functional, autonomous car isn’t market ready, there’s a series of new
systems that allow for parts of the self-driving experience to exist. With hopes of diminished traffic and parking costs,

18. 15 BYOD: BUSINESS CASUALBYOD will continue to push the boundaries. Privacy and security within businesses are top of mind, and as employees
bring their own devices to the workplace, confidential data and materials are more vulnerable than ever. This trend
promotes flexibility in employees accessing information anytime, anywhere. It’s critical for businesses to comply with
rules and regulations that surround intellectual property and security, and build the proper strategies to keep their
organizations secure.
