What is a digital content creator?
A digital content creator is responsible for developing and creating content that can be used across different media,
which can be digital, social media, broadcast or in print.
Working to the customer/client brief, they research, prepare and develop the media messaging to maximise
audience engagement, capturing the strategy and objectives for the customer and brands needs.
Opportunities
There are different opportunities that require different roles and are in different locations around the UK. In Milton
Keynes there is opportunities to be apart of "Events apprentice", "Cultural learning and participation officer". In
Birmingham there is "Social media coordinator apprentice", Towcester offers "Digital marketer apprentice". In
Woodford green offers "Cultural learning and participation apprentice".

Why do this apprenticeship?
Content creation is a growing industry. Content creation is essential part of business marketing whether it
is print or on screen. This apprenticeship allows you to develop a wide range of skills in a variety of
content creation.
Typical job roles include:
• Junior content producer
• Digital designer
• Graphic designer
• Video producer
• Web designer
• copywriter
End point assessment
For the content creator apprenticeship there is an end of point assessment. This is done in the final part of
the apprenticeship. This is how the apprentice is judged on their learning.
The content creator end point assessment (EPA) involves the following:
• Observation at work
• Set test and interview
• Submission of portfolio
Training
Training will include:
• Brand and brand awareness
• Content planning and pitching
• Content development
• Principles of graphic design
• Image editing and manipulation
• Illustration and vectors
• Video capture and editing

How you learn
Apprentices learn the skills they need on the job with the guidance of a development coach who is an expert from the industry. You'll
finish your apprenticeship with a recognised qualification, valuable industry experience, money and substantial opportunities for
promotion.

Channel 4 apprenticeships (2023)
14-36 months and a level 2,3,4 or 6 qualification in related subjects. You'll learn who's who, what's what
and where your department sits in the overall. A range of in-depth projects will give you details and will
count towards your qualification. They don’t look for specific qualifications, but need to impress us with
your passion for your chosen area and have the potential to stand out.

Netflix
Internship program
Typically, a 12-week summer experience and prime opportunity for college students to excel their career
by developing in demand skills. Complete business critical work, have the opportunity to apply their
studies to significant projects for the business while bringing their unique perpectives to the company.
The interview process
They hire for a variety of teams at Netflix. Internships interviews at netflix typically include a take-home
assessment followed by approximately three rounds of interviews, with advancement based on the
feedback at each stage. Your interviewers will be evaluating your technical (if applied), role – sepcific and
behavioral skills. During your interview they look to learn more about you, your skills and the kind of work
that excites you. This helps to match you with your dream team within Netflix.
Netflix – how to prepare for interviews
Read up on "culture memo", special part of Netflix is our work culture. They encourage us to ask your
interviewers questions about our culture, so you can hear what it's like to work at Netflix. You may be
asked about which aspect of the memo resonate with you or not, so being prepared is key.
Prepare to talk about your projects on your resume. They want to hear about your projects, internships
and any community/ organisations you are involved in. If you have been involved, use the STAR method
(situation, tasks, action and results).
Practice technical fundamentals (software engineering candidates). Want to see how well you code in
your favorite language. Practice basic algorithms your familiar with, and regain knowledge on common
data structures.
Netflix - Tips for a successful interview
• Ask clarifying questions – we ask question before we start, we are here to explain anything, use us as a
resource and ask us to clarifying questions.
• Think out loud – share your thoughts with us, knowing what your thinking will help us be better partner
to you. Make the interview a collaborative experience.
• Open to feedback - if your interviewer gives you any feedback, we recommend you reflect on it. You
don’t need to agree with everything.
• If you're stuck, step back and re-evaluate - if you are working and things are becoming harder than they
should be. Take time to re-evaluate your approach.
• Don’t give up - we want to work with someone with grit, determination and a mindset to
continually improve.

Evaluation
I have noticed that different companies interview and overall process of apprenticeships are very different.
They have different requirements and different ways of deciding if you are good for the job role. I have
also noticed that they are very competitive as there is not a lot of media companies are offering
apprenticeships.
As this is the case I am going to apply for apprenticeship's that relate to what I want to do and learn as I
will hopefully have a chance in getting into at least one.
