1. PID 21992 Metal Funds - Currency Shares
Summary of Changes
Objective: To automate the basket creation process for currency funds, the following changes have been
made to EPIC for currency shares:
• Fund Set Up Screen:
• New option for Basket Type – Currency (General Fund tab). Now baskets can be created
for currencies as well as cash and securities.
• New option for Cash Methodology - Currency Share Income (Basket Calculation tab). If
you select the basket type as currency (General Fund tab), the default for Cash
Methodology on the Basket Calculation tab is Currency Share Income.

2. • New field on Fund Set-Up - New Expense Ratio field will be created on Basket
Calculation tab of fund set-up screen.
• Basket Creation process -
• Update Epic Basket Calculations for currency baskets.
• Field - “Net Accrued Income Amt” will be renamed “Est. Cash Per Fund”.
• This shows that this amount is applicable to any cash methodologies and not just to net
accrued income
• The rename will be applicable to all baskets.
• Basket Creation after 12 P.M - Epic will allow user to initiate basket creation process for
current day basket even after the 12 P.M Sweep. This requirement will be handled in
Global Calendar project which will allow each fund to define its own basket creation cut-off
time.

3. • Fund Values Screen –
• Add new “Interest Rate” field - Create a new field called “Interest Rate” on fund values
screen. This field can be edited manually or updated using merged application.
• EPIC Merge Application –
• New functionality to upload the following: Distribution Rate, Distribution Amount and
Interest Rate. Interest Rates are uploaded daily while Distribution Rate/ Amounts are
uploaded on a monthly basis. FX Rates are automatically uploaded from Invest One /

4. Accounting. Currently Epic codes the FX Rates to be inverted or not, depending on how
the client wants to see them. FX Rates can be verified by running the FX Rate Report.
• Update can be done manually as well. Click on Activities. Click on Fund Value and select
appropriate account. Enter Interest Rate and click on save.

6. How it Works
Select Currency Account from the sponsor drop down menu. Click on Load button and then select
the account.

7. Under general tab- target currency must be populated. Select basket type from drop down menu.
Basket type drop down now has the choice of currency as well as cash and security.

8. Click on Basket Calculation tab, when currency is basket type, cash methodology will be currency
share income.

9. Select interest accrual methodology from drop down menu- two choices 360, 365. Then enter
expense ratio.
Click on File Creation tab. Two new fields need to be checked, for the new reports to be created.

10. NSCC INST, NSCC PCF, and PC Web NSCC INST will not change, already updated prior to new
method.
Click on file creation in activities tab. Select file type from drop down menu. Select type and
selection and then click on create file.

11. Click on Daily NAV file. Daily NAV report will open.
Click on Daily Values file. Daily Value report will open.
