 My role entailed providing leadership to the business development efforts of the organization. As such, I was able to
spearhead the expansion of the charityby putting together successful awareness campaigns and fundraising events that
not only raised the organization’s profile as a leader in cancer care, but also opened up revenue streams for the
organization’s activities. As a result, an initial revenue of £100,000 was realized within the first three months of my
appointment, a 30% increase from the previous financial quarter.
 I wasalsoableto identifynewincomestreamsfrom individualphilanthropistsandcorporateorganizations ultimatelysigning
a £300,000 (per year) revenue opportunitywith a leading retail chain for the next 5years.
November 2011 - March 2014 Grants Officer Federation of Women Lawyers' (FIDA) Kenya
 Myrole entailedprovidingguidanceandleadershiptothebusinessdevelopmentandmarketingefforts(fundraising)forthe
organization.Duringmytwo andahalf year stay, I secured30contractslastingbetweenonetofive years withmajordonors
such as USAID, DANIDA, US Department of State, Ford Foundation, Open Society Foundations, etc. This generated
revenue of approximately£12million between 2012 -2014, an increase of 20% in previous financial years.
 I also nurtured new and existingpartnershipswith both local andinternational organizations.One remarkableoutcomeof
this was the launch of the Intercontinental Alliance of Women’s networks in Law and Development

 This role provided me with an opportunity to exercise both leadership and project management skills and competencies.
Specifically, I was entrusted with the day to day running of the office where I was based, procurement and supplies
management, communicationmanagement between the office and the stakeholders, event planning and management of
logistical issues, pettycash management and grants database management.
 I also supported the program officers in proposal writing, research, proposal development and report writing
