DSPy a system for AI to Write Prompts and Do Fine Tuning
Question 4
1. How did you use new
technologies in the construction
and research, planning and
evaluation?
2. Blogger
Once of my favourite posts posted on blogger was my ‘Similar Artist’ post. The
reason I like this post is I feel it was key to the success of my music video and as
a media producer the information was needed to create the products. It also
incorporated different technologies from PowerPoint where the initial
information was formatted to Slideshare which allowed me to embed it onto
Blogger. This meant that when looking back I could easily see similar artists and
links to their music videos was also there so I could refer to them and compare
and contrast them to the Music video Idea I had. This also helped with Digipak
and Magazine adverts as these artists all had artwork produced for their music
and as they are from the same genre it allowed for me to gain influence.
Pictures were also added so I could see the different ways in which each artist
portrays themselves.
Blogger was the most essential part of the production of my media products. It was
key for keeping the organisation of everything together and following a structure. IT
was the hub for information needed especially for ease of access to past research
and planning which made the process of production easier as the information was
available.
RESEARCH
3. Prezi
Prezi was used in the process of getting researched information into a
presentable format for review. This allowed us to look at the
information we had found out in a more, contemporary and advanced
way rather than the standard format of just words and pictures. Prezi
gave the ability to embed YouTube videos which can be viewed from
the Prezi presentation without being redirecting to an internet
browser. This was seen in the research of music video where I was
able to embed videos from YouTube for easier playback.
RESEARCH
Furthermore, Facebook and souncloud was also
important in finding out about the artist Tyler Noel and
her audience that she already has and understand her as
a person. This allowed me to work on an image that had
been created and I just needed to meet and exceed
audience expectations while meets the formats of the
genre to succeed.
4. GarageBand/Photbooth
Examples of feedback received:
- ‘I think this is really good’
- ‘It looks professional’
- ‘I like the concept of your
music video’
- ‘could see more of the
narrative with boyfriend’
Garageband played a role in the recording of
audience feedback. This was easily accessible
meant that I could get a more honest opinion
as some people felt some pressure when the
camera was on them knowing that there
actions are getting recorded aswell when
recording with photobooth.
RESEARCH
All the feedback that I
received has been taken into
consideration and this helped
the formation of the final
product as it meet the needs
of our target audiences.
Photobooth was also used to gain audience
feedback. This gave a variation in the format
that the audience feedback was recorded
and made it more visual. This allowed for
the size of ghr group watching to be shown
and the reactions that they gave as well to
some shots that we supposed evoke some
emotion. For example, when Tyler Noel was
with her man and he told her to wait while
he answers a phone call and walks off’
5. Youtube
Youtube is a well established video sharing platform with over 1
billion users. This gave me a huge platform to share and view
other videos. This was key in the initial research and planning as
I needed to established a target audience and conventions of
the R&B genre. This was similar to what Turow stated which was
the formulas and formats give products greater chances of
success. So by establishing what these formulas and formats
were and understanding our target audience and expectations I
could create a product which a great chance of success.
RESEARCH
This is a shot from Mary J blige’s music
video who I felt was similar to Tyler Noel
and From this I could read the comments
and look and what people think of the
artist and what type people are viewing
this music. Furthermore, it gave me
influence in the construction of my music
video which the mirror shot was also used.
6. Powerpoint/Word
Microsoft office was the main part of the planning stage. I took all the
information I had gather from the research and audience feedback and then
put into context of the media products I was creating. For the music video, I
created a storyboard and animatic which was then posted on to blogger.
PowerPoint was used to create a Casting advert to gain actors for the roles of
the music video. A shot list was created on word to have a time and schedule
when all the camera shooting was going to take place. These things were all
essential in the creation of he music video as it meant that problems that occur
could get rectified if any. For example the Schedule was carefully prepared to
make sure than I was still filming in the daylight and it was to finish before it got
dark. The magazine advert plan was using the initial research to create a
template of how my magazine advert would look and the same for the digipak.
This meant that the shots needed for the templates could come to life and if
they didn’t work in practice then we could use a different one as numerous
ones were created based on the research I had found.

7. DSLR Cameras
Canon 650D Canon 600D
In the process of filming, I used two cameras. One of the reasons is because we had the access to and another
reason was due to the filming advantage it gave me . Using two cameras allowed me to capture the same shot from
two different angles at the same time in HD which can give the video a more continuous look and also provide the
audience with an idea of the surroundings. In addition, I felt the Canon 600D provided better video quality when
capturing which then gave us the opportunity to use the 600D while filming and the 650D for stills at the same
time. The 600D picture has brighter light in the shots which was the look I wanted for the music video. However,
the natural earthy look from the canon 650D looked better for still images for the Digipak and Magazine advert.

8. Iphone 6
With the increase in technological convergence.
The mobile phone industry is seeing a boom in
the quality of its cameras. This has been
demonstrated in the Iphone 6 with the Full HD
video recording capabilities and the images it
produces are of high quality. This allowed for
shots to be taken that we could more quickly and
conveniently. This can be seen with some shots of
the music video in pre-production and capturing
people participating in our questionnaires.
Furthermore, it gave me the ability to post it
directly on to social media sites. For example, a
shot filmed for the music video on the DLSR was
also captured on the Iphone and posted directly
to a social media app SnapChat where I was able
to get immediate feedback. In addition, helped
in the research stage where for shots of the
locations we were going to use.
CONSTRUCTION
9. Photoshop
Photoshop was used for the editing of still images and for creating
my Magazine adverts and digipaks. This was very useful with
features such as magic crop allowing me to crop a particular part
of a still image and place it onto another. This allowed me to try
out different images in order to create different digipak and
magazine advert ideas, until the final one was decided.
Furthermore, the extensive abilities to edit blending layers of the
graphics like the words made the titles look more professional
with the use of shadows, outer and inner glow and many more.
CONSTRUCTION
Afterlight is an application on my Iphone.
This app gave me the ability to edit still
images on the go. The ease of access and
the portability allowed me to continue
editing the product while not having
access to a computer. More basic than
Photoshop but exospore, contrast and
clarity features were useful

10. Final cut pro
Final Cut Pro was our main source for editing
video clips. This software is more complex
and sophisticated than Imovie and in
addition, provides more ability to adjust and
edit clips.
CONSTRUCTION
Imovie was not our main editing
software, but was very useful for
making quick edits and previews.
This can be seen with edits of some
audience feedback which only
needed small touches and cuts to
be made to them.
