The RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS STANDARD is a fully auditable
quality standard designed specifically for SMEs.
*A responsible business operates efficiently and ethically;
meets and exceeds legislation; and always considers its
impact on people (the workplace, the community and society
at large;) and the environment.
Because the certification is designed for smaller businesses,
including sole proprietors, a pragmatic approach defined as the
ASTI principle has been adopted:
A Appropriate
S Size
T Type
I Impact
The Responsible
Business Standard
is a broad-based
stand-alone
certification,
but can also sit
alongside other
certifications such
as ISOs by applying
a passporting
process.
CERTIFICATION: The
Responsible Business Standard
The RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS STANDARD is an auditable
certification, designed specifically for smaller businesses.
Would you like something more robust to evidence that
you operate ethically and responsibly? Would you like to
demonstrate to clients and potential clients that your business
meets responsible business criteria?* Would you like a
certification you could include when tendering for public and
private sector contracts?

Benefits of attaining the Responsible Business Standard
A driver for best practice helping to attract, retain and
motivate employees; reduce overheads; and increase operating
efficiency.
Enhances reputation by demonstrating the company takes
societal obligations seriously.
Meet procurement criteria, particular public sector, which
increasingly focuses on social and environmental credentials.
NB. The Standard is separate to membership: it isn’t a
requirement of membership and you don’t need to be a
member to take the certification, although you may find both
are beneficial.

BUSINESS COMMUNITY
CHARTER AWARDS
Business and Community Charter Awards are robust, rolling
awards which recognise businesses that are supporting
the local community whether that’s through fundraising,
volunteering, mentoring, employing apprentices, pro bono
work; or anything that helps ensure we have a thriving, vibrant
community.
Supporting local charities, community groups and schools isn’t
just good for the community - it’s GOOD FOR BUSINESS too!
Charter Awards operate within local authority boundaries and
are only currently available in a limited number of areas. For
more information visit www.bccawards.org.uk
DOUBLE WHAMMY
NETWORKING
Double Whammy Networking works alongside the Charter
Awards in local authority areas.
But Double Whammy (DW) are networking events with
a difference: they are ad hoc - different venues, different
times and slightly different formats - but there is a common
denominator. At least 80% of the ticket money raised goes to
local good causes. There are no raffles or auctions on the day
- just good quality networking. The events are priced at normal
market price for the type of event but sponsorship enables us
to raise funds for the “charity pot” for that particular day.
For more information, and to register for networking events
near you, visit www.dwnetworking.co.uk
