Answer the following questions:
1) Does the first language cause interference?
I think that we have to lean another language like babies, of course, we have
our language and we speak using the grammar and rules that we know to speak in
a good way, and each language has grammar and rules totally different. For that
reason, we don´t have to relate the L2 with the L1, because if we do that, we are
going to learn the L2 with a lot of mistakes.
2) Do you agree or disagree? Should teachers use their first language in a
foreign class?
I agree, because we need to learn with a guide, knowing what we are learning
and what is the meaning of words, I know that I said that we have to try learn a
second language like babies, but in our case, we are teenagers or in some cases
people who has more than twenty years old that are learning a foreign language, is
kind of difficult to learn like a baby, I think that we have to teach our kids to talk
another language when they can learn easily and much better to improve our
language acquisition. In the other hand, if we have a teacher that make us talk the
foreign language all the time, we are going to learn the L2 in a better way.
3) According to the reading what is repetition and imitation?
In this Reading, the author says that children can learn a foreign language using
the repetition, because they are learning all the time using this skill, for example,
the parents are all the time repeating to their child to say mommy or daddy, but in
this case the mom wins always, because the letter “m” and the vowel “a” are the
easiest sounds in all of the languages around the world, but they have to repeat the
words in order to teach their child to talk. Some people says that imitation and
repetition is past experience in language learning in an student case, because
people just listen and repeat; for example, there are some students that learn a
dialogue in another language, and they said that they can speak that language, but
they cannot speak in a social context. Repetition and imitation are necessary, but I
think that we have to use this skills in order to can speak with the others and reach
a good communication.
4) Write 3 differences and 3 similitudes between repetition and imitation.
SIMILARITIES:
Repetition Imitation
Play major roles in language
acquisition.
Play major roles in language
acquisition.
It´s a technique to learn a language. It´s a technique to learn a language.
We can learn through this method new
vocabulary.
We can learn through this method new
vocabulary.
DIFFERENCES:
Repetition Imitation
Children learn the language by
repetition.
Children don´t learn the language by
imitation. (It doesn´t mean that it is not
important)
It´s a major if not necessary component
for successful language acquisition.
Children learn through this method, but
they don´t know what is the meaning of
words.
It develops the ability to perform a
particular task quickly.

5) Build a map about the correct student’s habit in a foreign class
6) In your experience what habit does a learner need to have in order to learn
a language?
In my experience we as learners need to have a lot of habits in order to learn
a foreign language, for example we have to be good listeners and pay attention
in classes to learn quickly and easily. If we are doing another activities, we are not
going to learn in a good way, and we are going to have a lot of mistakes in the
practice. I think that pay attention in class is the most important habit in a foreign
class.
7) In your opinion what language is most difficult English, Spanish or French?
Please justify your answer.
I think that French is the most difficult if we compare this language with
Spanish of English, because French has a lot of grammar an rules, it is a little same
than Spanish, that is our first language, but for me, it is kind of difficult over all in
the pronunciation, for example, the are some words that we pronounce in the same
way, but they are wrote in a different way. If you have a mistake with the
pronunciation, you are going to say another word totally different.
8) Be prepared for a test.
