Professional Profile: Michael Dempsey
Michael is an experienced Applications development manager who
has a successful track record in delivering a wide variety of IT
projects on time and to budget. Michael has spent the most recent 9
months engaged as an IT PM for Fujitsu Ireland where he was
responsible for the ramp up and roll out of a new European HQ for
CRH. His duties included the coordination of a large Technical team
to review, design solutions via client workshops and coordinate the
successful transition of 300 resources off a legacy system onto a
bespoke support model.
Industry experience includes Banking, Telecommunications, IT,
Govenment and Retail. Michael has performed roles from technical
consultant to team lead, culminating as HP Team manager for the
Irish Applications team where he coordinated HP ES Accounts, built
client relationships and pursued new opportunities. Prior to CRH,
Michael was a Project Manager for the Lufthansa PMO team in
Frankfurt, delivering a new Operational organisation and support
structures for the airline.
Nov 2014 – As HP Applications Manager, Michael was responsible
for all HP Application activities in Ireland, supporting IT Resources
and Projects for HP Ireland. Including the NTA Web portal for the
Leap card, the Central Bank of Ireland, the DSP, VF and the student
registration system for the Intstitutes of Education in Ireland. Michael
worked for HP since 2008 when his previous company Escador was
taken under the HP umbrella.
Michael is comfortable dealing with senior client stakeholders and all
stages of the SW lifecycles and delivery methodologies. Highly
proactive, innovative with strong communication skills and the ability
to motivate and inspire his teams. His combination of business and
technical skills allows him to communicate effectively with senior
executives to achieve optimal business solutions while also
maintaining the low level details to ensure seamless operations at the
project level.
Over 12 years professional experience and 8 years in consultancy
have enabled Michael to provide customers with significant business
value though his hands-on consultancy skills, application of
Processes (ITIL) and common sense approach to project and
business issues.
Michael is a certified Prince2 project manager and has used these
skills within large enterprise accounts such as BT, HP, and Nokia.
Prior to joining HP, Michael worked at Accenture and Intel in Ireland.
He has gained the “Miller Heimann Certified Sales Professional” and
he applies these lessons to existing and new account management,
project relationships and overall project delivery capabilities.

Project Manager Fujitsu. Dec 2015 – Aug 2016
Most recently Michael has been Lead IT PM closing down the rollout of
the Fujitsu network for CRH across 7 EMEA countries - troubleshooting
outstanding snag lists, coordinating UAT and attaining Sign off from the
client country managers
Currently ramping up a new EU HQ in Amsterdam for CRH and
consolidating 5 offices into one centralized HQ.
Project Manager Lufthansa. Dec 2014 – July 2015
Michael was a key member of the PMO Delivery team building a new
Service Desk for Lufthansa based in Frankfurt airport. His role focused on
integrating multiple suppliers across three core global locations towards a
common challenging deadline. Transforming the existing Service Desk
using Siebel CFM system and coordinating the set up of the Daily
Operations team structures and processes including Workshops,
Transition and Training sessions to ITIL standards.

HP – Dublin, ES Applications Manager 2010 – Nov 2014
Led a team of 75 technical resources (PMs; Solution Architects; Business
Analysts and Graduates) facilitating 15 Applications projects across the
island of Ireland (Central Bank, AON, NI Water) and incorporating Global
support projects with an annual revenue of $15m using a blend of on, near
and far shore IT resources.
Enabled end-to-end project activity for a wide variety of skills and
applications where the main focus areas were with Microsoft and Oracle
Applications. Involved in every stage of a Project from Tenders, bids,
RFP’s, Deployment, Financials, Delivery and sign off.
HP/EDS – Dublin, Business Development Manager, January 2009
With the HP EDS merger, expanded the role to include the full Oracle
Applications suite. The target was to build the HP Public Sector share of
the Market in 2009 and this was achieved in the conversion of the NTA
and An Cheim government accounts - $17m over 5 years. The main
areas of focus were Public Sector, Telco, Finance and Automotive

Instrumental in the deployment of the WW solution and the migration of

Led the internal deployment team, communication to client, internal
