Zoom is BdREN's centrally supported, easy-to-use video conferencing platform
that provides high definition, interactive collaboration tools, and video
conferencing system to use for communication and collaboration. With Zoom
you can instantly start a virtual meeting with colleagues and students that
works with any MacOS, Windows, & Linux platforms, and has free apps for
Apple and Android devices.
Although it is possible to sign up directly for a free Basic licence at ZOOM, this
has limitations on meeting length and participant numbers.
BdREN has a corporate zoom license, which is available only for its member
institution.
But to combat COVID-19 disaster BdREN allows the facility of Zoom
Application free of cost to all universities.
7. Web Portal Configure Profile
Personal Meeting ID (PMI): Assigned to you
automatically as a permanent virtual room. You can
start it any time or schedule it for future use.
Personal Link: Your Personal Link is your personal URL
that is associated with your Personal Meeting ID.
37. Things to Remember
Before the Meeting:
o Test your Audio and Video
o Have the content you intend to share prepared ahead of time
o Close applications that have pop ups
Hosting a Meeting:
o Mute your microphone if others are presenting/speaking
o Use Gallery View for group/team meetings
o Share your screen
o Share specific applications to control displayed content
o Use “New Share” to seamlessly transition between shared applications
o Use the Annotation feature to grab and direct attention
Turn the camera on:
o Position your webcam at eye level or higher – experiment for best angles
o Use the gestures and mannerisms that you would typically use in person
o Make eye contact – try to look at your webcam as often as possible
Rename your Name/Designation
o You can change your name from the participant’s box.
