2. SPF is a manufacturer of FRP (Fiber - Reinforced Plastic) Tanks
in a wide range shapes, sizes and configurations. While the majority of these tanks are
cylindrical, SPF can supply rectangular or other custom shapes to meet the exacting
demands of our customers. We can fabricate and deliver FRP tanks of any diameter. SPF
routinely shop fabricates large diameter tank components in sections sized for shipment
Our highly qualified field crews are then dispatched and can quickly assemble the
components to form the completed tank. Other options include shop-fabricating tanks for
transport by barge to water-accessible job sites or transporting one or more of our mobile
filament winders to the job site and fabricating the complete tank on-site. Currently we
have completed tanks as large as 119 ft. in diameter in the field.
SPF also manufactures our patented portable FRP storage tanks which are made up
of shop-fabricated contact moulded, flanged sections. All flanged sections are
pre-assembled in the shop to insure proper fit prior to shipping. The tanks are then
disassembled and shipped to the job site. Once on site, the tanks are re-assembled
and all bolted flanged joints are fibreglass welded to form an integral tank.
To complement our tank portfolio, we offer industrial grade polyethylene day and
storage tanks to complete your storage needs. Like our FRP tanks, these tanks
are engineered to your exact specifications. SPF can provide custom-made fittings

Use of Surface Mat
The surface mat keeps the reinforcing fibers of the composites away from the
exterior environment and also helps providing a resin rich surface having good
mechanical stability. This results in FRP composites having better resistance
to weathering, corrosion and abrasion.
Use of Resin Rich surface
Even though surface mat is used on the exposed surface of the FRP lining,

further coating of the surface with a coat of resin will greatly improve the long term chemical resistance. The top coat eliminates possible pin
holes on the surface and keeps the surface smooth and dirt free.
Use of UV Stablized Top Coat ResinFor outdoor application it is strongly recommended to use UV stabilized Top coat to protect lining from UV
radiation of sunlight. Use of Special Top Coat resin The resin rich layer should not be allowed to cure in presence of air since the resin surface
that is exposed to air do not cure properly. This can be avoided by using the specially designed top coat which ensure the complete curing even
in the presence of air.

FRP Linings are widely used to protect the steel structures exposed in the
chemical and outdoor applications. FRP lining is suitable for severe gas
service and also immersed condition services. Following precautions must
be observed for long lasting and effective lining job post curing at 80^C for
at least six hours. Ensure complete curing of the lining.
