2. Oh Hanukah, Oh Hanukah
The Society for Jewish Folk Music in St. Petersburg published two classical compositions
Composers: Hirsch Kopyt (published in 1912 but performed as early as 1909)
Joseph Achron (published in 1914, composed December 1914 in Kharkov)
• (Oh), Hanukah, Oh Hanukah
Come light the menorah
Let's have a party
We'll all dance the horah
Gather 'round the table, we'll give you a treat
Dreidels (or "sevivon") to play with, and latkes (or "levivot") to eat
• And while we are playing
The candles are burning bright (or low)
One for each night, they shed a sweet light
To remind us of years (or days) long ago
One for each night, they shed a sweet light
To remind us of years (or days) long ago.

4. Twelve days of Christmas
“Business (Christmas/Wedding) Expenses”
Perhaps, King Pepin calculated to give 1 gift each day that would last an entire
year to remind Bertada of his Love for her (and like a dowry to his fair
maiden/future wife) or she requested that she be gifted 1 gift every day for an
entire year
As per wikipedia, if the gifts are repeated in full in each round of the song, then a
total of 364 items are delivered by the twelfth day (that is almost 1 gift per day
in a year-365 days).
In 1984, a custom begun by PNC Bank is to create two pricing charts:
1) The Christmas Price Index: The current costs of one set of each of the gifts
given by the True Love (King Pepin) to the singer (Bertada)
of the song, “Twelve Days of Christmas”. In 2015, it was
$34,130.99 . This is almost the cost of a new luxury sedan vehicle.
2) The True Costs of Christmas: This is the cumulative costs of all the
gifts in the song with repetitions and the people mentioned in the
song are hired, not purchased. In 2015, this was $155,407.18 . This is like the
cost of a new home.
*Note: “The original 1984 cost was $12,623.10. The index has been criticized for not
accurately reflecting the true cost of the gifts featured in the Christmas carol”
