Unibo and MENA region
Unibo has included Southern Mediterranean countries
and universities in its ICM proposals since the beginning
(2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019)
▪ 2015: Egypt, Lebanon (success rate 50%)
▪ 2016: Jordan, Israel (success rate 100%)
▪ 2017: Jordan, Israel, Morocco (success rate 100%)
▪ 2018: Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Morocco (success rate
100%)
▪ 2019: still under evaluation

Main evidences
• Flows more with Middle East countries than Maghreb
• Drivers for Outgoing students: Arabic language,
courses thought in English, area studies
• Drivers for Incoming students: Italian Language and
culture, humanities, economics
• Places for University of Jordan were among the most
desired in 2017 and 2018 Erasmus plus call (selection
1 out of 10!)

✓ Experience of student mobility programmes:
international relations/student mobility offices;
tools for comparison of different HE systems
(credits, grades); tools for recognition
✓ Experience of E+ programme: clear understanding
of E+ principles and required commitment (fees,
mobility duration, eligibility of funds)
✓ More attractive for staff and student mobility in
both directions
