Upon becoming a follower of Oreo on Twitter, contestants had the ability to partake in
the uniquely designed Instant Win Game by "hitting" the piñata with every original tweet
including the #OreoPinata hashtag. Once the piñata broke, the Twitter user who swung
last (tweeted the respective hashtag) would be rewarded a free pack of Oreo cookies.
Throughout the week of March 26, 2012-April 1, 2012, Oreo gave away 30 packs per
day. With thousands upon thousands of participants, Promotions.com developed the
logic behind the winning tweets and drove consumers to the redemption site. Winners
would receive either an @mention or @reply with information on how to redeem their
prize, which was a coupon for the a free package of OREO cookies.
