Learning thru
Design and
Technology
Maria kristina D. Nunog
BSE III- English
At the end of the lesson, the
students will able to:
1. recognize the steps
involved in systematic
planning and designing of
lessons involving the
selection of educational
technology;
2. describe some of the
learning styles of
students.
Principles of
Designing
Educational
Technology
Lorenzo (2005) stated that instructional
materials are specifically designed classroom
tools. Which contain instructions to learner or
teachers.
Principles in designing instructional materials:
 Materials are specifically designed for planned
purposes.
 they must serve the objectives for which they are
intended. If they are designed to provide a
springboard to a lesson or intended to unlock
vocabularies.
 Instructional materials are tools designed for
teacher as well as for students/ learners.
 they are devices, which, if used appropriately by both
teacher and the learners may cause learning to take
place.
The use of content in the material is planned,
instruction will give in detail the use of content.
Instructional materials specify
• The content to be learned,
• The techniques of presentation, practice and
use of the content , and
• The mode teaching associated with those
techniques.
Steps in
designing ICT-
Based Instruction
Research and Development Approach
of Borg and Gall
1.The Planning Phase.
 Knowing the learners.
(Gardner, cited by heinich, et al)
“Not all of them learn in the same
manner and in the same style”.
Guide in analyzing the learners
 General Characteristics
 Entry skills
 Learning styles
Roles of Instructional
Objectives
1. Provide direction for the
instructional process.
2. Communicate
instructional intent to
students, parents,
administrators and
others.
3. Provide a basis for
student learning
Compose a song about the
essence of planning a lesson
involving the selection of
educational technology and
learning styles of students

How does the methodology
strategies of the teacher affect when
his/her students are different from
one another?
