There are various factors that can play a role in student
learning in a classroom setting .
These factors include:
•Classroom Management
•Family, School and Community Relationships
•Student Diversity
•Response to intervention
It is the job of the instructor to use effective planning
strategies to ensure that these factors promote a positive
learning environment.

pdf
*This website shows an effective classroom
management plan.
*Effective Classroom Management is:
*1. Planned not improvisational
*2. Preventative rather than simply reactive
*3. Controlled and organized rather than chaotic
*4. An opportunity for all students and teachers to
experience success
*
*Classroom Management is also based upon
how you set the classroom up and how the
teacher, teaches in that setting.
*How does the students address the teacher, do
they call them by the first or last name Mr./Mrs.
*
*
*Diversity is defined of having or being
composed of different events.
*Diversity in the classroom is a wide range of
differences from physical abilities to cognitive
abilities. There also may be other diverse
characteristics like English proficiency, hearing
disorders, social levels, economic levels,
gender, ethnicity, cultural and other ways of
learning individual to each student (Burden &
Byrd, 2010).
*Students may fall in multiple diverse categories.
*The key is meeting the learning needs of the
individual student.
*
*First step is to recognize the student’s
differences.
*Make adjustments in instruction. This can be
challenging but it is needed in order to meeting
the learning needs of each student.
*Celebrate diversity, show that you value
diversity in the classroom, students will be more
comfortable in the classroom and feel accepted.
*Plan instructional strategies to help students
reach their instructional goals. Instructional
strategies can include direct, inductive, social,
and independent.
*
* Differentiation provide students with different
avenues to learn the content, it can include
planning, grouping, various instruction, identifying
assignments and assessments.
(Burden & Byrd, 2010).
*
What is RtI or Response to Intervention- Response to intervention
integrates assessment and intervention within a multi-level prevention
system to maximize student achievement and reduce behavior
problems.
RtI relates to effective planning:
-allows teacher to differentiate instructions to meet students needs
A helpful website to learn more about RtI or Response to
Intervention is: http://www.rti4success.org/
*
• Classroom Management
• Family, School and Community Relationships
• Student Diversity
• Response to intervention
*These Factors all play an important role in the
classroom setting. Learning is able to take
place when the teacher has considered these
factors and have employed the proper tactics
that will allow them to work cohesively toward
student learning.
