The Europe-Darkhan Innovation and
Entrepreneurship Hub (EU-DIEH) is an
Independent Body of the School of
Agroecology and Business, the
Mongolian University of Life Science to
foster, and nurture, with an objective to
create a culture of innovation and
entrepreneurship in Darkhan-Uul
province through the scheme and
program of sensitization, ideation,
incubation, acceleration, and seed
funding schemes to create and
operationalize sustainable innovation
communities within the priorities of
sustainable development goals.
OVERALL OBJECTIVE
Set up, operationalize, and deliver a
long-term, permanent, institutional
innovation and entrepreneurship
platform-Europe-Darkhan Innovation
and Entrepreneurship Hub and to lead
start-up and innovation ecosystem in the
Darkhan-Uul province to create a regional
and territorial economic development and
enhanced prosperity through registration
of start-ups, small and medium enterprises
and corporations delivering jobs, green
growth, and sustainable development.

This program is designed for entrepreneurs who want to model their

This program is designed for those who are financially and operationally
stable entrepreneurs and aims to provide them with new opportunities for

PROGRAMS
AND SERVICES
EU-DIEH is one of the implementing units for the “FRIENDSHIP” project and
was established under the School of Agroecology and Business,
the Mongolian University of Life Science to increase the contribution of
universities and research institutions to the local economic growth of
Darkhan-Uul Province. EU-DIEH will provide the following services within the
framework of the FRIENDSHIP project, co-funded by the European Union:
TO SUPPORT AND TRAIN POTENTIAL
BUSINESSES AND SOCIAL TECHNOLOGY
INNOVATION SECTORS.
100 entrepreneurs will be trained within the
framework of 10 general and specialized training
programs, specially prepared for the needs of social
and technological entrepreneurs of Darkhan-Uul
province. In addition, 3 selected entrepreneurs will
be given the opportunity to visit Europe to study
experiences in their areas (EU case study visits)
TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR SEED CAPITAL
AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT OF EU–DIEH
To expand their startup businesses, a total of 100
SMEs and entrepreneurs with startup business
ideas will be selected and trained during the
project. Of these, the top 10 participants will each
receive up to 20.000 euros as seed funding and
technical support.
EU–DIEH AWARD TO THE BEST
ENTREPRENEUR
The hub aims to support and encourage the best
entrepreneur who meets the requirements of
the project priorities including strengthening city
governance, ensuring equal social participation,
creating sustainable and green urban develop-
ment, and providing innovative business ideas.
BUSINESS VISITS OF ENTREPRENEURS
EU–DIEH aspires to provide opportunities to
attract investments and seek to learn from
entrepreneurs in European Union member states.
It aims to connect entrepreneurs of Darkhan-Uul
province with the European region and create
opportunities for further cooperation. Therefore,
selected business entrepreneurs will be given the
opportunity to visit Europe and gain experience in
their field.
