  1. 1. DESIGNING
  2. 2. Training Development Consultancy CETPA, the Acronym of "Computer Education & Technology Promotion Association", believes in quality Because Knowledge Matters. WELCOMETOTHEWORLDOF DESIGNING
  3. 3. INTRODUCTION TO THE TERM DESIGN:  THE TERM DESIGN MEANS TO PROVIDE A SUITABLE SOLUTION TO ONE’S PROBLEM OR YOU CAN SAY IN OTHER WORDS BREAK THE PROBLEM TO ITS SIMPLEST FORM TO GET ITS SOLUTION.  DESIGN IS THE AREA OF HUMAN EXPERTISE, SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE WHICH IS ASSOCIATED WITH ONE’S APTITUDE TO MODIFY ONE’S SURROUNDINGS TO MATCH HIS OR HER NEED. THINKING DESIGNING REAL PRODUCT
  4. 4. CURRENT DESIGN PROCEDURE USED IN INDUSTRIES: • CAD Computer Aided Designing • CAA (CAE) Computer Aided Analysis • CAM Computer Aided manufacturing  There is a new addition of CAE stands for Computer Aided Engineering to improve the previous one.  CAE includes Analysis of the designed product before its manufacturing. (Computer Aided Engineering)
  5. 5. • COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN (CAD) is also known as COMPUTER AIDED DRAFTING AND DESIGN, in this we use computer technology for the process of design and design documentation. • CAD software or environment provide the user with input tools for the purpose of streamlining design process, drafting, documentation and manufacturing processes.
  6. 6.  CAE STANDS FOR COMPUTER AIDED ENGINEERING.  CAE INCLUDES ANALYSIS OF THE DESIGNED PRODUCT BEFORE ITS MANUFACTURING.
  7. 7. CAM  CAM STANDS FOR COMPUTER AIDED MANUFACTURING.  VARIOUS MACHINES AND AUTOMATION IS USED TO CONVERT DESIGN INTO ACTUAL EXISTENCE.
  8. 8.  DRAFTING (2D)  DESIGN (3D)
  9. 9. So CAD is also known as
  10. 10. COMPUTER AIDED DRAFTING & DESIGN
  11. 11. WHAT IS THE NEED OF CAD???
  12. 12. NEED OF CAD:  REDUCED THE NEED OF DRAFTSMEN  ACCURATE CREATION  ALLOW ROTATIONS IN THREE DIMENSIONS  DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF ASSEMBLIES
  13. 13. SOFTWARE COMPANIES:  AUTODESK  DASSAULT SYSTEMS  PTC  SIEMENS AND MANY MORE
  14. 14. 2D SOFTWARES AVAILABLE  AUTOCAD  CADIA  PCB XPRESS AND MANY MORE
  15. 15. 3D SOFTWARES AVAILABLE  CATIA  SOLIDWORKS  AUTOCAD & AUTOCAD INVENTOR  CREO (FORMERLY PRO/E)  SIEMENS NX (FORMERLY UNIGRAPHICS NX) AND MANY MORE
  16. 16.  It is a featured based , associative solid modelling software. It provides solid modelling, assembly modelling, drafting, etc…..  Creo is a product developed by PTC which is USA based in 1987.  It was formerly known as ProE (Pro Engineering).  It is a parametric, featured-based, solid modelling system.
  17. 17. Companies using ProE/ CREO 1)HYUNDAI POWERTECH 2)GODREJ AND BOYCE MANUFACTURING COMPANY LIMITED 3) HONEYWELL 4)ABB 5)PHILIPS MEDIZIN SYSTEME
  18. 18.  Creo is a high- end software.  It is preffered for sheet metal design, mold design.  Most of the MNC’S use Creo/ProE for designing.
  19. 19. Sketcher Sketcher is used to create 2D profiles for 3D modeling. Features of Sketcher:- 1) Creating sketches using different curves and profiles. 2) Editing sketches. 3) Setting constraints to sketched elements.
  20. 20. Part modeling 3D Part Design provides the fundamentals of feature based, parametric modeling by the use of material adding , chamfer and fillet. This application makes possible to design precise 3D mechanical parts with an intuitive and flexible user interface.
  21. 21. Sheet metal design Sheet metal design- In sheet metal design various application such as – cooler body, cpu casing .
  22. 22. Assembly Design In assembly design, the various parts are assembled together by applying constraints to them, and thereafter the exploded view of the assembly is shown to make the assembly more clear
