Empowerment can be defined as giving employees a certain degree of autonomy and responsibility for decision-making regarding their specific organizational tasks. Empowerment allows decisions to be made at all levels of the Organization. It is the state of feeling self-empowered to take control of one's own destiny.
  2. 2. Avoid thinking of it as something that one individual does for another. Employers must create a conducive environment and employees must grab opportunities.

  5. 5. Employee Empowerment is not an overnight process. Employers must analyze the need for Empowerment at various levels.

  7. 7. Have a Shared Vision Share the Vision and mission of the organization with the employees. This will help the organization as a whole maintain a clear sight when they set goals at various levels. Employees will show Surprising Commitment and Drive.
  8. 8. Shared Goals and Visions Involve employees in crucial and important decisions as and when possible. Make progress observable with the help of employees. Empowered employees require lesser supervision.
  9. 9. Trust the intensions of people to do the right things. Give clear expectations. They will focus on the actual results rather than wondering, worrying or second guessing.
  10. 10. Give Employees clear information. Clear information helps employees make decisions at all levels.
  11. 11. Delegate opportunities, not just boring Work. Give competent employees the chance to take up leadership roles. Let Employees involve themselves in new levels and develop skills. Guide Employees through various steps. Do not just give them orders. This way help the employee develop new skills.

  13. 13. Increased dedication of Employees. Increase in productivity. Increased organizational responsiveness. Commitment to Organizational Goals. Its can lead to decreased productivity. Lack of centralization of decisions can cause confusion It can create tension between Employees and managers. Can be counter productive and increase pressure.
  14. 14. I believe that empowerment is not a passive activity; it is an active, deliberate program that involves close examination of each circumstance and each employee. It should be the manager’s goal to bring each individual up to the next level of empowerment and it should be each employee’s goal to achieve and except each progressive level. This overview of empowerment can increase the quality and performance of employees.
