4. Infectious Bursal Disease (Gumboro)
Spread: Rapid, Acute Contagious
Clinical Signs: depression, white watery diarrhea, soiled vents,loss of
appetite, ruffled feathers, unwillingness to move,trembling, closed eyes ,
lying down in exhaustion.
Immunosuppression: High
PM Lesions: Swollen (oedematous) bursa in the early stages, small and
large haemorrhages on its, inner surface of bursa, Haemorrhages in the
thigh and breast muscles, kidney swelling.
Mode of treatment: Pulmoliv-BH, Germicida-P, Immutas, Avired.
Vaccination: should follow.
7. Causitive Agent: Avian adeno virus
Predisposing factors: Early infection of IBD, CAV, Feed quality
Age Affected: usually young chickens, broilers 3 to 4 weeks
Organs Affected: Liver, Kidney, heart, immune organs
Morbidity: Low to High
Mortality: Low to High
Incubation Period: 3–4 days.
Transmission Disease: Horizontal, Vertical
Entry: Digestive Tract/inhalation
Inclusion body hepatits, Hydro pericardium

8. Spread: Rapid, Acute Contagious
Clinical Signs: Anaemia, jaundice of the skin and subcutaneous fat, haemorrhages in
various organs, especially the muscles, and bone marrow degeneration are usually
present, but vary in severity. Sick birds adopt a crouching position with ruffled feathers
and die within 48 hours
Immunosuppression: High
PM Lesions: The liver in diseased birds is pale, friable and swollen, and frequently has
haemorrhages. Hydro pericardium heart.
Mode of treatment: Pulmoliv-BH, Germicida-P, Immutas, Avired.
Vaccination: should follow.
