Saudi vision 2030.pdf

  1. 1. overview Since the launch of Vision 2030, we have built a foundation, around which unprecedented reforms were made in the public sector’s operating model, the economy and society as a whole. This laid the foundations of success for the future. We faced many challenges and gained a myriad of experiences, which boosted our confidence in achieving our future goals. We worked on improving the effectiveness and response of the government, unlocked opportunities for growth and investment.
  2. 2. Importance of Saudi Arabia  Saudi Arabia is the land of the Two Holy Mosques which positions the Kingdom at the heart of the Arab and Islamic worlds  Saudi Arabia is using its investment power to create a more diverse and sustainable economy  Saudi Arabia is using its strategic location to build its role as an integral driver of international trade and to connect three continents: Africa, Asia and Europe
  3. 3. Pillars of vision 2030 Pillars of vision 2030 Ambitious nation Vibrant nation Thriving economy
  4. 4. Ambitious nation Effectively governed Responsibly enabled
  5. 5.  Effectively Governed  The roles and requirements of government have grown significantly since the Kingdom’s founding. We must continue to evolve to keep pace with changing expectations and new challenges. We are committed to delivering the highest standards of transparency and accountability, managing our finances efficiently and effectively, creating agile public organizations and implementing effective performance tracking.
  6. 6.  Responsibly Enabled  The nation we aspire to build requires the contribution of all Saudi citizens. No matter if we are working in the public, private or non- profit sectors, each of us has a role to fulfill if we are to achieve our hopes and fulfill our aspirations and responsibilities to our country, our society, our families, and to ourselves.
  7. 7. Vibrant nation
  8. 8. Keeping our traditions  Saudi traditions are rooted in Islamic teachings and Arab customs. The highlights of the year are the holy month of Ramadan and the Hajj (pilgrimage) season, and the national holidays that follow them. The holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, culminates with the Eid Al Fitr holiday. The Pilgrimage season draws millions of Muslim pilgrims from around the world come to Makkah every year. It concludes with the Eid Al Adha holiday. Saudis’ valuable Arab traditions include generosity and hospitality. Arabic coffee (its preparation is also a form of cultural tradition) is often served in small cups along with dates and sweets as a hospitality gesture offered to visitors, friends or family.
  9. 9. Thriving economy Leveraging our geographical position diversification rationalization Open for business
  10. 10. Open for Business  Further opening our country to investment will boost productivity and accelerate our journey to becoming one of the world’s largest economies. This will be achieved by improving our business environment, restructuring our economic cities, creating special zones and deregulating the energy market to make it more competitive.
  11. 11.  Leveraging our Unique Position  Saudi Arabia sits at the crossroads of important international trade routes between three continents: Asia, Europe and Africa. We will maximize the benefits of our exceptional geographic position, form new strategic partnerships to grow our economy, and help Saudi companies to increase exports of their products. We will leverage our proximity to energy sources and our distinctive logistical offer to stimulate a new phase of industrialization and boost trade.
  12. 12. Diversification  Diversifying our economy is vital for its sustainability. We have long-term plans to increase our ranking among the 20 largest economies in the world. Despite the headwinds of the global economic slowdown, we are investing significantly in promising new growth economic sectors to further diversify the economy, and privatizing government services.
  13. 13. Rationalization  Rationalizing of our consumption of the available resources is another way we can relieve the subsidy burden a bit . Therefore , we must consume electricity, petrol , and water more rationally and efficiently than we are currently doing . It is an Islamic imperative that we do not overuse whatever resources available unnecessarily.
