Company Overview:
TechTarget company and Gerg Strakoschis the CEO of that organization.
Company have more than 400 employees.
Providing flexible and stress-free environment to their employees.
Implementation of no attendance policy.
Hire best employees in the market.
Ensure the availability of employees through email, cell phone.
Organization culture of freedom and risk free.
But don’tallow to their customers to tookfreedom risk free becauseit
carries some responsibilities.
In 2008 company was named as one of the “bestplaces to work”.
HRM Strategy:
Goals are distributed on a quarterly basis to employees.
Completion of work is essential.
A Tech company is result oriented.
Termination to employees in case if they fail to meet targets.

at TechTarget? Do you believe it’s too simplistic? Defend your position.
Solution: “No attendance” plan means TechTarget company is providing some empowerment
to their employees. Means, that company’s owner is putting his trust and belief onto his employees
by providing them full freedom and autonomy. So, from my point of view I think that no
attendance system is a wonderful idea that was implemented by TechTarget company.
So, as we know according to the point of view of most the employees when they have the freedom
to do their job, they will do it from their best efforts, sincerely or with the deepest of their heart.
No, the idea was not simplistic because there are several factors that can play a vital role in this.
For example, if the idea fails then the company will suffer from some drawbacks. There was much
possibility that employees take advantage of this and do not do their job properly.
These things depend upon the nature of the employees and the companies as well as which type of
employees they are hiring. As the TechTarget company is hiring the best employees from the
market so, this could be beneficial for them.
• Question 2: Do you believe that such an employee policy as described in the
case can succeed in other companies? Why or why not?
Solution: Yes, this policy can be successful in other companies. TechTarget is giving freedom
to their employees to do their job according to their own timing and way. Apart, from that they are
giving targets that must be accomplished within a time limit by all employees. That’s why
employees will be motivated as well guided for their job. So, when the employees feel motivated
or satisfied with their organization. They try to put their best efforts into achieving the best
outcomes for the organization.
TechTarget policies can only be successful in other companies if the other companies HR follow
the policies like in a TechTarget company. Like
HR has to make the policies that are stickily followed by the employees.
HR has to hire the best employees from the market and to provide them freedom and
autonomy.

Explain. How do you believe these conditions relate to employee motivation?
Solution: I think there is a need to introduce a special condition for this environment such as
good relations with employees. So that the employees will feel that this is their own organization.
1- There should be a proper staffing process. Means, HR should have to select the best
employees according to the requirement of the company.
2- Creation of a positive environment. There should be a stress-free working environment
for the employees to work in. This means the environment that full of freedom, autonomy,
and pleasure.
3- Proper training and development program. There should be proper training of the
employees so, they can understand the company’s culture, norms, and ethics. That helps
them to perform the best inro their tasks.
4- Maintain good relationships among employees. HR has to create and maintain a friendly
environment among employees. So, they can share their quires and problems with each
other or can work collectively.
5- Select those employees that fit best according to your organization’s culture.
How these conditions relate to employee motivation?
If HR creates this kind of environment at the workplace this is could motivate the employees.
Because HR is providing the environment and culture and working conditions according to the
satisfaction of the employees. So, as the employees feel satisfied, positive and motivated at the
work place or she tries to perform best into their activities.
