formulation , medico-legal governance, staff continuous medical education (CME) and
international accreditation team leadership. He has worked in senior management as well as

Dr. Abhay Dandawate graduated (MBBS) from the prestigious
GS Medical college, Mumbai, India in 1982. He obtained his
post graduate (M.S.Orth) qualifications from the same institute. He served in the same medical
college as Lecturer and then as Senior Lecturer till his departure to the UK in 1992.
He completed five years of training in reputed hospitals in the UK. He obtained his MCh Orth.
from the Liverpool University. He also did a Fellowship in Spinal Surgery, Oswestry, UK.
Dr. Dandawate has 25 years of experience of working in India, UK and UAE. He was associated

Dr Mathews J Alapatt graduated (MBBS) from the
prestigious St Johns Medical College, Bangalore India in
1985. Subsequently he completed his Post graduate

College of Physicians of Edinburgh. He has recently
obtained an MSc in Diabetes from the Cardiff UK.
Dr Alapatt has worked in hospitals in India, UK and in the
UAE. Prior to joining JTSMC he was at the Welcare Hospital in Dubai for 15 years where the
Head of the Department of Medicine running a very busy inpatient and outpatient practice. He
practices a holistic approach for the treatment of diabetes, believing in the close link between
an individual’s physical and mental wellbeing and the importance of preventative medicine and
sustainable lifestyle changes.

College, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh and did her pediatric
residency from Kanchi Kamakoti CHILDS Trust Hospital,
Chennai under the aegis of National Board of Examinations,
New Delhi.
Following her residency, she worked in Apollo Speciality
Hospital, Chennai and Narayana Hrudyalaya, Bangalore in the
Department of Pediatric Hemato-Oncology. She has

Stephanie Karl graduated Dip H.Sc in Nutrition in 1985 from Otago
University, Dunedin, New Zealand. She went on to complete a teaching
diploma in health sciences from Christchurch College of Education in
1987. After some years teaching and being involved in health
consultation and promotion in the UK and New Zealand, she completed
a three year post graduate (PG community nutrition) in 2002
specializing in sports nutrition and chronic disease from Otago
University. She wrote her thesis on maternal diet during pregnancy and its effect on breast-milk
composition. It was published in the NZ Nutrition Journal in 2005 at which time she gained her
Masters in Science (nutrition). She gained a diploma in eating disorders in 2009. She went on to
lecture at the New Zealand Institute of Sport in 2003 as well as teaching health science and
nutrition for a number of years.
Stephanie has been working in UAE for the last 8 years and established herself as a frequent
guest speaker at health conferences and forums, professional development events in obesity,
diabetes, food intolerance and women’s anti-aging health and hormone issues. She writes
frequently for local newspapers, magazines, and talks on the radio and TV on current topics of
interest. Her last assignment in Dubai was at a functional medicine clinic that focused on the
underlying cause of disease and the major impact food and lifestyle has to make corrections.

Dr. Teena Mathew trained at the prestigious Christian Medical
College, Vellore, from where she obtained her Masters (MD) and
Diploma (DDVL) in dermatology, venereology and leprosy. She has
previously worked as Consultant Dermatologist at the Methodist
hospital, Nadiad, Gujarat and Nirmala Hospital, Calicut and as
Specialist Dermatologist at Zulekha Hospital, Dubai.
She has published in the international peer reviewed Australasian
journal of Dermatology, and presented her work at various national dermatology conferences.
Her thesis on validation of newer diagnostic modalities in the rare disease of pemphigus was
one of the earliest studies in the field.
She is a life member of the Indian Association of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy and a
member of CSI (Cosmetology Society of India) and International Society of Dermatology.
Her particular areas of interest are pediatric dermatology, immunodermatology and
noninvasive aesthetic dermatology.

Specialist Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. Urooj – Specialist Obstetrician and Gynecologist completed her
postgraduate training in the Pakistan Institute of Medical Science
where she obtained her Membership and Fellowship from the College
of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan. Prior to relocating to the UAE,
she was the Assistant Professor Obstetrics and Gynecology, Shifa College of Medicine (STMU) /
Shifa International Hospital Islamabad Pakistan .She is currently pursuing her membership from
Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology from UK.
She is well experienced in the treatment and management of a wide spectrum of Obstetrics and
Gynecology patients. Her areas of expertise include Antenatal care, Post Pregnancy Care,

Dr. Udaya Chand Das is an ENT Specialist who is European Board-
certified in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He believes in
combining the latest surgical techniques with a personal approach to
each patient for their benefit. He has an experience of more than 20
years in managing ENT & Head and Neck diseases.
He sees patients of all ages and treats all ENT related diseases. According to him, almost all patients
with ENT diseases can either be cured or can be helped to keep their symptoms under control. He
feels that it is important to always listen to each patient in order to best pinpoint and solve their
problems.
Dr. Das has a special interest in advanced surgical techniques for chronic sinus disease and ear
problems. He advocates the use of Laser and available most recent advanced equipment in most of
his surgeries. According to him these enhances the outcome of the surgery positively.
Dr. Das started his medical career at J I P M E R, Pondicherry, India. J I P M E R is one of the premier
