Recommendations
6. 1. We Support a 1% Tuition Cut.
The biggest barrier for many students is the cost of
higher education. It is also the reason most
students who do not obtain their degree do not
complete their education.
7. 1% Tuition Cut
-Seeking a 1% Tuition Cut for 2 year
colleges and universities.
*Think of how this would personally effect you.
*Think of what this would mean for your education, your
quality of life, and the lives of your fellow students.
*How would this specifically help you or students that you
know?

8. 2. We Support the MN State Budget
Request.
In order for the MN State System to maintain it’s
current services and to reform the system, we rely
on the investment and funding as outlines by the
MN State Budget Request.
MSCSA’s Legislative Agenda
9. 3. We Support Reform for Developmental
Education.
Many students use crucial financial aid dollars in
developmental education before ever taking
courses that receive college credit. We need to
revolutionize the way we approach developmental
education to remove harmful barriers and delay’s
in college completion.
MSCSA’s Legislative Agenda
10. Developmental Education Reform
-Seeking accelerated pathway options.
-Looking to continue to work with MN State to
create an overhaul on how we approach Dev Ed.
*What challenges have you (or students you know) faced
within Dev Ed? How did it effect their college experience?
*How would changes to Dev Ed help you or others?
