My practice in 1 slide
Objective combine technological innovation and tutor-supported activities
to increase language learner autonomy
Sector: Higher Education (applicable to Secondary Education and Teacher Education)
Impact:
• Micro level: ICT tools/tutor support => motivation, collaboration, learning strategies
• Meso level: tutor/teacher collaboration supported future language teachers
• Macro level:
– standardisation of ICT acquisition procedures (e.g., interactive boards,
projectors)
– springboard to other language and technology projects
Why is it innovative? :
• Content: authentic input, learner-selected materials
• Method: decentring teaching and learning
• Governance: role of the tutor: language acquisition + ICT skills

Where will we be in 3 years?
• integration into pre- and in-service courses on ICT in language
education
• other EU projects (iTILT for interactive whiteboards in language
teaching, Web2LLP for content curation and dissemination)
And in 10?
• teacher education – materials, resources, sustained support
• research in classroom practice and teacher education (CALL)
What would we need to make it scalable?
