Perinatal registry (І) • An integrated database of pregnant women was created in the oblast • Planning of medical professionals activities • Assessment of prenatal, intranatal and postpartum complications • Statistical reports • Monitoring and consultations of pregnant women from the risk groups by the regional experts
  10. 10. Result: doctors at the facilities and oblast specialists have timely access to relevant information and can make decisions based on it: to refer the pregnant woman to the level where she will be provided the best care Perinatal registry (ІІ) Central rayon hospital Oblast perinatal center

Challenges of implementation Challenges Solutions Creating of the appropriate infrastructure (computers, access to internet); Agreement: the Program purchases computers and the facility ensures Internet connection Human resources (computer competence, personnel, lack of time, motivation); Two- stage training: 1) computer skills courses, 2) training on software use. Saves time owing to quick retrieval of reports Regulations (concurrent maintenance of paper records); The challenge remains, however it is possible to print out certain forms Absence of a separate division responsible for ICT at the HCA; Technical personnel team and data center were created

Pilot project on implementation of electronic medical record • Pilot site: Lutsk CRH – Admission department; – Medical department; – Cardiology department; – Surgical department; • 21 workplaces were created; • Computers were provided from the territorial polling stations; • Patient registry program: “Doctor LX”
  14. 14. eHealth strategy • Development of strategy – to ensure sustainability of ICT tools • Vision: by 2020, the citizens of the Volyn Oblast shall benefit from improved, efficient, transparent and accessible health services through intelligent use of Information and Communication Technologies.
  15. 15. • Priorities and strategic objectives of the Volyn oblast administration in the public health were defined in the strategy • The strategy was approved by the Volyn HCA and disseminated among the stakeholders eHealth strategy www.mch.org.ua
