Este diálogo en inglés presenta la planificación de una cita entre un chico y una chica para el jueves. Deciden ir a comer a un restaurante fuera de la ciudad en lugar de ir a un club. Sin embargo, se pierden tratando de encontrar la estación de tren y terminan disfrutando de su comida en un restaurante diferente.

This dialog contains the tenses:

As a basis for structuring the conversation I took the seen in the book Straightforward
Pre-intermediate Student's Book, more precisely the units in which as student I
noticed deficiency, they were the Number 3, subsection C talking about Home town
vocabulary; that same lesson in subsection D; Number 4, subsection C talking about
Movies.
This is a dialogue that develops between a boy and a girl who are planning to go out
together...
A: Hey, what are you doing? the semester is ending and I was wondering what are
you doing on Monday, would you like to go somewhere on Monday?
B: The idea sounds fantastic, but I'm afraid I'll have to say no. That day I really can’t,
because I must submit an essay that I haven’t even started yet.
A: It's a shame! but that can be arranged, you know, what I will do now is invite other
day, why don’t we go out somewhere on Wednesday, then?
B: Sounds good, but I've always preferred hanging out on Thursday, Would there be
any problem if we change the appointment for that day?
A: Of course not, your company for me is a pleasure, I'm excited and still not reach
the day.
B: Sure yes. Well, And where should we go?
A: Let me think, what do you say if we go to the club?
B: Oh, no, I've been thinking that the club is boring, people are boring, activities are
good, but people never have good attitude.

3. A: I wasn’t thinking about the people, I was thinking about you and I, but if you don’t
want to go there, then… Why don’t we go eating at a restaurant outside the city?
B: Much better, I want Thursday arrives, well, I'm going to go to class, see you soon.
A: Wait, how do we go? walking or by car?
B: Walking is healthier, take public transport and reach.
A: Perfect. We go by train, but do know how to get there?
B: Mmmm ... no, we are going to ask on the road.
--- On the way to the restaurant

B: I’ve no idea of the way. Hang on. I’ll ask this guy. ‘Scuse me, could you tell us the
way to the station, please?
C: The station you want? Well, turn right when you come out of the stadium. Go
straight in. And then, take the first street on the right, ok?
A: Ok, got that.
C: It’s called Strawberry Place, all right. Cross the road, cross onto the other side,
and walk a bit, it’s not far. Go past the Metro station, on your left. Ando go to the
other side, you’ll see the bus station. It’s not hard you find, but you’d better ask for
more directions from there.
B: So we go past the Metro, then turn left and look for the bus station? OK, thanks
C: That’s right. Bye.
--- The guys just walk and walk
A: I wonder where the Metro is. He said it was near.
B: Yeah. And he didn’t say anything about that church in front of us. And, look, there’s
a roundabout, but I can’t see a bus station.
A: We’re lost, aren’t we? Come on, let’s ask someone. Excuse me, how do I get to
the train station please?
D: The train station. Just go down this street, keep going, keep going, and it’s sort of
down there. Not far, you know. You’ll see the cathedral, and then the train station is
very near after that.
B: Oh, right. Thanks a lot.

4. B: I think we’re really lost this time. That man never said anything about a shopping
Centre.
A: And the shopping Centre was ages ago.
B: And he didn’t mention that castle we walked past either.
A: No, he was talking about a cathedral.
B: Oh, well, it’s nice here, anyway, isn’t it? You see the bridge over there?
A: Yeah, that’s the famous bridge, isn’t it?
B: Why aren’t we going to go into one of these bars? Or we could have a meal in
that restaurant.
A: Good idea. We can always look for the station later.
--- Finishing their meal in the restaurant…
A: Have you done?
B: No, not yet. Give me another few minutes.
A: But you took an hour.
A: I know, but the food is delicious.
B: Oh, hurry up, please, I'm getting tired of waiting to go! The food was delicious, I
had never eaten shrimp salad that was looking like a crazy idea at first but when I
tried, I changed completely my opinion.
B: I know! I liked the food too. I'm thinking that if we had gone to the club, surely had
eaten as usual, however, here until the soup tastes delicious.
A: I love hanging out with you.
The guys will take their way back home, and that’s it.

Como base para estructurar la conversación se retomó lo visto en el libro
Straightforward Pre-intermediate Student’s Book, de manera más precisa las
unidades en las que como estudiante noté deficiencia fue en la Número 3, en su
inciso C hablando sobre Home town vocabulary; esa misma lección en su inciso D;
la Número 4, en su inciso C hablando sobre Movies.
Este es un dialogo que se desarrolla en una escuela entre un chico y una chica que
planean salir juntos…
A: Hola, ¿qué estás haciendo?, el semestre está por terminar y me preguntaba
¿Qué vas a hacer el lunes, te gustaría salir a algún lugar el lunes?
B: Aunque esa idea suena fantástica, me temo que tendré que decir que no.
Realmente ese día no puedo, debo entregar un ensayo que no he comenzado aún.
A: ¡Es una pena!, Pero eso se puede arreglar, lo que voy a hacer ahora será invitarte
otro día, ¿Por qué no hacemos algo el miércoles, entonces?
B: Me parece bien, pero desde siempre he preferido salir los jueves, ¿Habría algún
problema si cambiamos la cita para ese día?
A: Claro que no, que salgas conmigo ya es todo un placer, estoy emocionado y
todavía no llega el día.
B: Seguro que sí. Bueno, ¿Y a dónde deberíamos ir?
A: Déjame pensar, ¿Qué te parece si vamos al club?
B: Oh, no, he estado pensando que el club es aburrido, la gente es aburrida, las
actividades están bien, pero la gente no tiene buena actitud.
A: No estaba pensando en la gente, estaba pensando en tú y yo, pero si no deseas
ir ahí, entonces ¿por qué no vamos a comer a un restaurante fuera de la ciudad?
B: Mucho mejor, ya quiero que sea jueves, bueno, me voy a ir a clase, te veo pronto.
A: Espera, ¿Cómo nos vamos?, ¿Caminando o en auto?

6. B: Caminando es más sano, tomamos el transporte público y llegamos.
A: Perfecto. Nos vamos en tren, ¿pero sí sabes cómo llegar?
B: Mmmm… no, preguntamos en el camino.
--- De camino al restaurante
A: ¡Vamos!, camina rápido que hay que encontrar la estación del metro.
B: No tengo idea a dónde ir. Espera. Voy a preguntarle a ese chico, ¿Disculpa,
podrías decirnos el camino para la estación del tren, por favor?
C: Sí. ¿Quieres la estación? Entonces das vuelta a la derecha y cuando estés fuera
del estadio, entonces sigue derecho. Y después, toma la primera calle a la derecha,
la primera calle a la derecha, ¿de acuerdo?
A: Perfecto, lo tengo.
C: Se llama el lugar de la fresa, de acuerdo. Cruzas el camino, te pasas al otro lado,
y caminas un poco; no está tan lejos. Vas a pasar la estación del Metro a tu
izquierda. Y vas a ir al final del camino. Das la vuelta a la izquierda y estarás en la
glorieta. Y del otro lado vas a ver la estación de autobuses. No está tan difícil de
encontrar, pero mejor pregunta si vas por buen camino.
B: Pasamos el metro y damos la vuelta a la estación de autobuses. Gracias.
C: Sí, no es nada, adiós.
--- Los chicos caminaron y caminaron
A: Me pregunto dónde está la estación del metro. Él dijo que estaría cerca.
B: Sí, y nunca dijo nada sobre esa iglesia enfrente de nosotros. Y mira, ahí hay una
glorieta, pero no puedo ver la estación de autobuses.
A: Estamos perdidos, ¿verdad? Vamos, hay que preguntarle a alguien más.
Disculpe, ¿Cómo llego a la estación del tres, por favor?
D: La estación del tren… sólo continúa hacia abajo en esta calle, caminas, y
caminas y justo estará ahí. No está tan lejos, ya lo veras. Veras la catedral, y luego
la estación del tren estará muy cerca de ahí.
B: Ah, muy bien. Gracias.
---- A pesar de que siguieron las instrucciones.
B: Creo que solamente perdimos el tiempo. Ese sujeto nunca dijo nada sobre un
centro comercial.
A: Pues ese lo pasamos hace décadas.

7. B: Y no mencionó el castillo que acabamos de pasar, tampoco.
A: No, hablaba sobre la catedral.
B: Ah, pues está bonita, ¿verdad?... oye, ¿Ya viste el puente?
A: Sí, es ese famoso puente.
B: ¿Por qué no entramos a alguno de esos bares? ¿O vamos a comer a ese
restaurante?
A: Me parece perfecto. Podemos buscar por la estación del tren después.
--- Terminando su comida en el restaurante…
A: ¿Ya terminaste?
B: No, aún no. Dame otros pocos minutos.
A: Pero llevas una hora.
A: Lo sé, pero la comida está deliciosa.
B: Oh, apúrale, por favor, me estoy cansando de esperar.
A: ¡Vaya! La comida estuvo deliciosa, nunca antes había comido camarones en la
ensalada, me estaba pareciendo una idea loca al principio, pero cuando los probé,
cambié por completo mi opinión.
B: ¡Lo sé!, a mí también me gustó la comida. Estoy pensando que si hubiéramos ido
al club, seguro hubiéramos comido lo mismo de siempre, sin embargo, aquí hasta
la sopa sabe deliciosa.
A: Me encanta salir contigo.
