Meriter – UnityPoint Health is committed to providing you preventive and wellness resources for good health. We’ve

0Harms (tobacco, and excessive
alcohol and sugar)
• Mindfulness Training for Smokers (MTS) – A 7-week
program designed for smokers who have tried to quit and

• NewStart – An outpatient rehabilitation program for
individuals with substance abuse disorders.
5Servings of fruits and vegetables
per day
• Nutrition Programs – Our Registered Dietitians provide
instruction and counseling regarding healthy diets, weight
loss and dietary changes for managing health conditions.
20Minutes of slowing down, quiet
time, relaxation or meditation per day
• Mind-Body Medicine – This group will help you
recognize the sources of stress in your life and teach you
how to manage stress-related symptoms and illnesses.
• Relaxation Exercises –

• Am I Hungry?® – This lifestyle and health management
program provides mindfulness tools in addition to
fitness and nutrition education to guide participants
toward sustainable, healthy lifestyle changes.
• Healthy Weight Program – Through this medically-
managed weight loss program, our multidisciplinary team
will help you set realistic weight-loss goals and develop a
plan to achieve them.
150Minutes of exercise per week
• Get Fit – This 10-week exercise and healthy eating
program will get you started on the path to achieving
and maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle.
• Stay Fit – This self-monitored medically supervised
exercise program is aimed at helping participants develop
lifelong exercise habits while reducing medical risks.

including yoga, birthing/parenting,

Health management
• Women’s HeartCare – This multidisciplinary program
is designed to help women improve their lifestyle, including
exercise, nutrition and stress management, to prevent heart
disease and manage existing medical problems.
• Diabetes Care – Whether you’re Type 1 or Type 2, newly
diagnosed, pregnant or looking to get back on track,
Meriter has group classes to educate and support you.
• Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Clinic – Our
interdisciplinary team will help you reduce the effects of
IBS on your daily life and control your symptoms.
• Pain Management – Through group classes, you’ll learn
about the connection between events, thoughts, feelings,
actions and your pain, as well as how to cope through
exercise, relaxation and support.
• Chronic Illness Support Group – In this supportive
environment, you’ll learn how to better cope and manage
your various chronic health conditions.
