WELCOME TO THE SUPPLY CHAIN
MANAGEMENT STARTUPS HANDBOOK 2022!
When we finished last year's
handbook after months of
conception, data collection,
data analysis, chatting
with industry experts and
consuming unethical amounts
of coffee to do that, we asked
ourselves at the beginning of
this year: do we really want
to do that again? The answer
was a loud and clear YES!
Not only because we had so
much fun discovering new
supply chain technologies
and startups but we also received loads of positive
feedback and support from all of you, our readers, the
more than 200 startups we listed in 2021 and the supply
chain and logistics community. THANK YOU to all of you!
The year 2022 was again full of (supply chain) challenges
in the global economy as well as in geopolitics with
currently no end in sight. Not to forget the biggest crisis of
all: The Climate Crisis. Transforming existing supply chains
into more transparent, more resilient, and sustainable
value chains remains on the highest agenda for companies
across the globe. Technology startups play an essential
role in making this transformation happen. We are more
than happy to contribute to this challenge by continuously
monitoring and profiling this ecosystem hoping that it helps
everyone in the industry to get access to the latest trends
and upcoming technologies.
This year also brought a big change (and challenge) for us
personally. As we decided to fully focus our professional
careers on the supply chain and logistics startup
ecosystem, we founded Prequel Ventures. With plenty
of experience in early-stage venture capital and startup
operations, we felt that it was the right time to start our
own venture fund and put our money and our learnings
to work in supply chain. With Prequel Ventures we are on
a mission to build a focus fund for supply chain startups
that invests in the most promising teams and technologies
throughout Europe at their pre-seed and early seed
stages. We not only aim at being among the earliest
investors but also to deliver the most tangible value add
and support for founders across Europe. Thus, giving
INTRODUCTION
them access to our network and helping them to bring
their products to market and growing their companies in
order to make global supply chains more resilient, more
transparent and more sustainable.
WHAT TO FIND IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN
MANAGEMENT STARTUPS HANDBOOK
At the core of the handbook, you will find 343 supply chain
startup company profiles from all over Europe, who have
registered in our Supply Chain Startup Database. The
handbook is available in two versions. The light version
comes with shortened company profiles of the startups.
In our full version you will find an extended one-page
profile of each company including detailed descriptions,
USPs as well as relevant contact data in case you want to
reach out to learn more about their offerings. To guide you
through the European supply chain startup ecosystem, we
have created 15 main segments and sorted the startups
accordingly. At the very beginning of our handbook, you`ll
find an overview of all included startups as well as our
overall evaluation of the data collected over the last year.
THANK YOU TO THE AUTHORS
Besides profiling the supply chain startup ecosystem
in Europe, The Supply Chain Management Startups
Handbook 2022 is again equipped with great articles and

Rachor, Vera Trautwein, Tim Beckhoff (McKinsey),

Before we let you explore the company profiles in
more details, we would like to spend a word on the
methodology we used to create The Supply Chain
Management Startups Handbook 2022.
All companies included in this handbook registered
their company for last year’s handbook or created a
listing in our Supply Chain Startup Database via our
website www.scm-startups.com.
The submitted information is the basis for their
profiles in The Supply Chain Management Startups
Handbook 2022. We screened all of the profiles and
checked the submitted data.
Companies that were clearly not active in the supply
chain management sector or out of our geographical
focus region Europe were excluded. In some cases
(without claim of completeness) we enriched the profiles
with recent funding rounds we detected after the
respective company submitted its data.
LIGHT VERSION VS. FULL VERSION
The handbook is available in two versions. The light version
comprises a more handy and compact summary of the
company profiles while the full version provides the full one-
page profile of each company.
LIGHT VERSION (EXAMPLE)
Here is an example of the company profile you will find in
the Light Version of the handbook
HOW WE BUILT THE SUPPLY
CHAIN MANAGEMENT
STARTUPS HANDBOOK 2022
FULL VERSION (EXAMPLE)
The full company profile is delivering more detailed
information on the company, e.g. USPs and reference
customers. You will also find funding and contact data in the
one-page profile. Please find an example below:

All company profiles are also available in our Supply
Chain Startup Database, which we constantly
update and extent with the latest new startups and
technology innovations.
