was carried out in a professional
manner and were happy to work
closelywithusthroughoutthe
three-week project.
The eco-energy specialists were
tasked with installing a major
43kWp solar photovoltaic system on
the roof of AXA’s tall, town centre
office block, working from an
enclosed central courtyard.
Simon Coomber, Contracts
Manager at M&M, said: “The biggest
challenge we faced was to get
scaffolding into the small interior
courtyard. This had to be brought in
through the main office and then
passed out of windows one pole at
atime.
“With the buildingcontaining
more than 500 members of staff, we
carefully programmed the work
around office hours, erecting the
scaffolding and carrying out thebulk
of the installation duringweekends,
early in the morning and in the
evenings.
“The project was carried out over
three weeks in a bid to restrict
disruption to the office complex and
the staff of AXA PPP.”
The 43kWp system, laid out over
two roof spaces, will provide annual
energy savings of £3,700 and tax-
free Feed-in Tariff and Export
returns of £9,000 – over 25 years
this will provide an income and
savingsofapproximately£472,000.
The solar system also boasts
stronggreencredentials,withCO2
savingsofover20tonnesperyear.
