The different ways we work with numbers are through:  Counting Numbers are used to count how many things there are. e.g. how many eggs?  Measuring Numbers are used to measure things on a numerical scale. e.g. weight, volume and area.  Labelling Numbers are used to label things. The number could be replaced by a name as it isn’t measuring anything. e.g. a bus or telephone number.  Ordering Numbers are used to order things. The number might be seen as a label, but the order matters. e.g. door numbers along a street.
