Getting Started
1. Go to https://business.facebook.com/ and create a Business Manager Account
a. Add people (Admin or Employee access)
b. Create Ad Account (will need credit card or PayPal account to set up payments)
c. Connect your Facebook Business Page & Instagram account
2. Think about your current goals - do you want to drive people to your website, capture leads, or get
foot traffic?
a. Select your advertising objective based on your goal (Website Traffic = Traffic, Lead Capture
= Lead Generation, Foot Traffic = Reach)
3. Focus in on your target audience
4. Determine your budget - generally speaking, the sky’s the limit
a. Start with a modest budget that you’re comfortable with and slowly increase over time as you
start to see success
5. Select engaging creative and write clear and concise copy - ads that perform the best are those that
look more “natural”
a. Facebook is not the space to replicate flyers, newspaper ads, etc.
6. Test out several versions of each ad to see what your audience responds to
7. Have fun with it!
