#1 Bastian Greshake, a 31 year old programmer from Germany did
a visualization of what code would look like without all the words;
which is basically just the punctuation marks.
In order to keep things comparable, he took an example that solves
the Josephus problem in three different languages and stripped
them of their words.
ID the three languages
Perl, Ruby, Python
#2 X, king of Shinar, was, according to the Book of Genesis and Books of
Chronicles, the son of Cush, the great-grandson of Noah.
The Bible states that he was “a mighty hunter before the Lord [and] ....
began to be mighty in the earth.”
In 20th-century American English, the term is now commonly used to
mean a dimwitted or a stupid person, a usage first recorded in 1932 and
popularized by the cartoon character Bugs Bunny, who sarcastically refers
to the hunter Y as X, as an ironic connection between "mighty hunter" and
“poor little X”, i.e. Y.
X and Y?
#3 Joel Gold, a psychiatrist at the Bellevue Hospital Center, revealed
that by 2008, he had met five patients with schizophrenia (and heard of
another twelve) who believed their lives were _______ __ _____. Gold
named the syndrome "The X delusion" after the film and attributed the
delusion to a world that had become hungry for publicity. The syndrome
predominantly affects young white men.
Gold stated that some patients were rendered happy by their disease,
while "others were tormented." One traveled to New York to check
whether the World Trade Center had actually fallen—believing the 9/11
attacks to be an elaborate plot twist in his _______ ________. Another
came to climb the Statue of Liberty, believing that he would be reunited
with his high-school girlfriend at the top and finally be released ____ ___
____.

#4 The X Festival of Music is an outdoor music festival held in the X Valley
in Arunachal Pradesh. It showcases the independent music scene in India.
The festival was founded in 2012 by Bobby Hano and Menwhopause guitarist
Anup Kutty, and has featured artists like Lee Ranaldo, Steve Shelley, Louw
Majaw, Sha'air n Func, Indus Creed, Peter Cat Recording Co, Menwhopause,
Guru Rewben Mashangva, and Barmer Boys among others. The festival is
spread over four days and is hosted by members of the Apatani people in X.
The official name of the airport in X is a misspelled version of the word,
and this version is a word which is synonymous with India.
X?
#5 Where?
#6 This phrase is of military origin, but the precise allusion is
uncertain. Some say it referred to the treatment of a wounded
soldier without anesthesia, so that he would be asked to ____ _
_______ during treatment so he wouldn't bite off his tongue from the
pain.
Francis Grose's Dictionary of the Vulgar Tongue (1796) holds that
grenadiers being disciplined with the cat-o'nine-tails would ____ _
______ to avoid crying out in pain.
What three word term am I talking about?
#9 Identify the following personalities.
(1)
(2)
(3)
(4)
(1) : Barack Obama
(2) : Christian Bale
(3) : Morgan Freeman
(4) : Bill Gates
#10 What do these indicate?
1 - you can safely eat here without getting the runs
2 - if you happen to pass this place do stop and have some food
3 - if you're hungry, this one is worth adding twenty miles to
your trip and taking a diversion
These were the original meanings of each of the Michelin
stars that restaurants are awarded.
#11 When he was ten, Richard Stokes was taken by his father to the
1956 Ashes Test at Old Trafford, and watched X. "I cannot recall
_______________," he said, "but I can tell you the crowd was really
excited and there was a lot of noise."
In 1998, while working in India, businessman Stokes strolled along to
watch a Test match in Delhi - and endured an even noisier day as Y
against Pakistan.
X and Y are the only two feats of their kind and therefore are pretty
historic.
What are X and Y?
X : Jim Laker taking all ten wickets in one innings of a test
match.
Y : Anil Kumble doing the same.
#12 X has joined a joint project with tuning firm Mansory and self-
styled high society club Raff House to create a new supercar.
The finished car, of which just eleven (no substitutes) will be made
is designed to ‘unite the best of Ferrari and Aston Martin’, according
to the promotional literature.
A single teaser image has been revealed, showing a carbonfibre-
bodied coupe with vertical exhaust outlets and faintly McLaren 12C-
esque rear lights.
It’s claimed the car will develop around 750bhp, though no
powertrain details have yet been disclosed.
Contrary to popular opinion though, the car isn't a bus.
ID X

#13 X is an adage that states that "If you write anything criticising
editing or proofreading, there will be a fault of some kind in what
you have written.“
John Bangsund of the Society of Editors (Victoria) in Australia
identified X as "the editorial application of the better-known Y"
and set it down in 1992 in the Society of Editors Newsletter.
Y is pretty well known and states that : "Anything that can go
wrong, will go wrong.”
ID X
Y is Murphy’s Law
X is Murphry’s Law
#14 The phrase has become a popular culture catchphrase and
punchline, used to refer to anyone who has exited in some sense.
Baseball announcers on radio or television sometimes use the phrase
as a humorous way to describe a home run, which is typically hit over
the outfield fence and into the stands, thus leaving the field of play.
It was first used by promoter Horace Lee Logan on December 15, 1956,
near Shreveport, Louisiana, to plead with concert goers not to leave a
concert hall to try to see _____ as he left and instead remain to see
the other acts on the bill.
What phrase?
#15 The most common explanation (also unverified) predictably
concerns the Ford motor company (as Henry Ford and his
business are commonly viewed as the prototype that established
the modern corporate employee-employer relationship.
Each worker had a cubbyhole where at the end of the workday a
manager would place a ____________. A white one meant that
their work was acceptable and a __________ meant
___________.
The supposed origin of what two word term that became
immensely popular in 2008-09?
#16 Earlier printing presses made use of moveable type,
individual letters which could be placed on a frame, spelling
out the page that was to be printed. all these hundreds of
individual letters had to be stored somewhere, and they needed
to be readily available and organized, so that a skilled
typesetter could set a page of type quickly.
This is the origin of what two terms?
Upper-case and Lower-case
#17 Why does the view count on YouTube videos get stuck at this
figure for a while, immediately after they’re posted? Assuming
they do actually get more than 300 views that is.
If a recently posted video has gotten more than 300 views in a
short span of time, Google temporarily suspends the counter
display and checks if the views are from legitimate sources or
just bots.
#18 Stephen Hawking hosted a party on 28th June 2009. But while
he told plenty of people about the date, sent out invitations and
waited patiently for them to arrive, nobody came.
Why?
He waited until the party was over to send out the invites. It
was a party for time travelers.
#19 India suffers from a colonial hangover. Proof of this can also be
seen in the Parliament. For example, in both the Lok Sabha and the
House of Commons, the finance ministers end their all important
speech by saying they “commend this budget”.
In 2001, the man in the picture killed off one little tradition of the
all important budget speech. What was the tradition, and why did it
exist ?
Yashwant Singh. Time of Budget.
#20 The idea of this originated from Satish Ranjan Das’
participation in the growing search of national indian identity.
Ironically, many media bodies now call this “The ____ of India”.
What am I talking about.
Doon School
#21 “Arul also recalls when “_____ took a copy of Rushdie’s
Satanic Verses from a senior quizzer once it had been
banned, photocopied it at his dad’s office and passed it
around in the scene.” Thus grew parallel trade economies of
knowledge trading: all my Madame Curie trivia for your
Satanic Verses and so on.”
A movie is made which is partially based on _____’s life and
it made big news when it premiered in Sundance Film
Festival. FITB and bonus points for the movie
Naman.
Movie: Bhraman Naman
#22 Google has developed fonts under the name of “Google
Noto Fonts”, where noto stands for no more tofu.
So in the world of technology, what is tofu ?
Squares which appear when text/emoji’s aren’t compatible.
#23 In 1949, Parle decided to venture into the cola market by capitalizing on
the already popular “Gluco” brand and hence launched a cola drink called
“Gluco Cola”. The ad campaign for Gluco Cola was created by a young man
with a knack for cartoons, who was none other than the legendary R K
Laxman!! The brand was destined to take off but had hit a hurdle within few
weeks of its launch by the global giant, Coca Cola.
Although Coca Cola did not have its presence in India that time, it had
registered its trademark in India and hence took offence when it found a
similar sounding brand which it thought would confuse Indians, thereby fearing
its brand dilution and threatened to go to court. Parle did not want to spend a
fortune on legal battle and quickly renamed it to “Parle Cola”, but Coca Cola
was still not convinced. Parle did not want to budge either, but after 2 years of
putting up a brave fight, Parle succumbed to pressure and discontinued Parle
Cola in 1951.
But Parle was not ready to give up, and in 1952 it launched a product that
became an instant success. Name the product.
#24 Rajeev Sethi is a Padma-Bhushan winning personality. He
is widely known in the field of design and art curation.
What is he responsible for in Bombay, that was loved
by everyone ?
Jaya He Art Walk in CSI Airport. One of the largest collection
of art in the country.
#25 Kedar Singh in 1962 gave a speech who’s first few lines were—
“Today the dogs of the CID are loitering around Barauni. Many official dogs
are sitting even in this meeting. The people of India drove out the
Britishers from this country and elected these Congress goondas to the
gaddi and seated them on it. Today these Congress goondas are sitting on
the gaddi due to mistake of the people. When we drove out the Britishers,
we shall strike and turn out these Congress goondas as well…”
This speech made Kedar Singh very very famous. Why ?
Kedar Singh vs State of Bihar.
First case of sedition in independent India.
