Uber is being sued by a former software engineer for sexual harassment, racial discrimination and pay inequity. It’s the first suit against the company since its new policy no longer forcing arbitration in cases of sexual harassment or assault.
Companies can legally require workers to sign away rights to class-action claims, ruled the Supreme Court. This means staff will not be able to join suits on issues such as overtime wages.
China and the U.S. have reached a “broad outline” of an agreement to save Chinese telecom giant ZTE, reports The Wall Street Journal. Details of the deal are scarce, but Beijing has reportedly agreed to lift tariffs on U.S. farm products.
