Today I startedproduction,tobeginIreferredtomypre-productionPowerPointsoIcouldgetan
ideaof where tostart. As I saidinmy productionschedule,Ibeganwiththe cutscene,tobeginIput
on animationassist onmycanvas,thenfor the firstframe I drew whatI had plannedtodo inmy
storyboardonlywithmore detail,inpixel artandin colour,Ithenduplicatedthe frame andedited
herarms to make it looklike she iswashingherhands.Iduplicatedthese around4timesandthenas
the storyboardshowsI made herlookup, todo thisI usedthe freehandtool todraw aroundherhair
and headand movedtoa place where itwouldlooklike she wasmoving,Ithenwentoverthisand
refinedthe drawing.Idecidedto holdthisframe for4 more frames,soit didnotseemlike itwas
goingto quick.I thendrewthe nextpartof the storyboardwhere she looksdownandherreflection
staysin the same place,thishas beenquite hardasI am not usedto drawingthatangle so
tomorrow,I am goingto lookupa reference,soitiseasier.Ihave gottenaroundhalfwaythrough
thisand will continue ittomorrow.Ialsodrew upa quickbackgroundof tilesas she inthe bathroom,
I addedshadingaswell tomake it seemmore lifelike andtoadddepthto the drawing.My goalsfor
tomorroware to finishoff thiscurrentsectionandbe readytomove on the gameplaybit.Sofar,I
am happywithhowit isturningout,I have done a lot more than I expectedtogetdone todaysoI
am gladI am ahead.I do not thinkthere isnotanythingmajorthat needsaddressingsofar,whenI
getmy feedbackill improveonitthen.

Today wasthe secondday of production,before Igotstarted,I openedmypreproduction
PowerPointandreferredtothe storyboardsoI couldsee whatI needto donext.Aftergoingover
that I wentto iPadto start animating,startingwhere Ileftoff,Icontinuedthe sequence of her
bendingdowntothe sink,Isaid yesterdaythatIwouldneedtolook at a reference tohelpbutafter
lookingone upI hadit spoton and continuedasI was.I thenreachedthe pointwhere Icouldstart
addinginthe reflection.Itriedtogo off where the original drawingwasandthenaddedinsections
of the character as the image appearedif thatmakessense.Tomake sure it wasthe same ineach
frame I usedthe freehandtool toselectthe partsof the image sothat I couldcopy itto the next
frame.Afterdoingthisuntil Iwashappywithit,I addedinfeaturesforexample hernose,eyesand

3. eyebrows.Because these frameswill needtobe quickerImade a new canvasand copiedoverthe
single frame andbegananimatingfromthere,Iwantedherlookaroundbefore realisingAri was
there sodrewher pupilsindifferentplacestomake itseemlike she waslookingaround,thenwhen
she realiseshereyebrowsmove upandshe sayshi,for the ‘hi’I wantedtomake it appearletterby
lettersoI startedwiththe line toindicate itwasher speaking,made anew frame anddidthe ‘h’,
thenmade anotherframe withthe ‘I’and thena final one forthe ‘!’.Tomorrow,Ineedto finishoff
the sectionsoI can have eastertocatch upon work,thisis importantasI will have noothertime to
do the work.The workI have done todayisgood and I thinkIwill have done enoughtogetitdone
tomorrow.I donot thinkthere isanythingthatneedsimprovement,butif there isIwill edititlater.

Today wasthe 3rd
day of production,asI didyesterday,Ireferredtomypre-productionPowerPoint
and sawwhat I neededtodonext.Ithenwentto my iPadandreviewedmyworkfromthe previous
daysand foundthat I onlyneededtodraw a frame and thenaddextralayersto animate it.This
frame isthe final one withthe twocharacterslookingintothe mirrorwithbothinview fromthe
side.Todo thisI drewthe basic tile backgroundsothatit wouldmatchwiththe rest of the
animationandthendrewthe mirror,for bothI changedthe coloursto be darker onthe opposite
side soyou wouldbe able totell itwasthe Shadow realm.Ithendrew the Ari,referencingthe image
firstimage fromthe start of the animation,andthencopieditandflippedittothe otherside,Ithen
changedthe coloursto be darker to againshow that itis a differentrealm.AfterdoingthisIbegan
animating,throughoutthissectionIfocusonAri as she isthe onlyone whowill be moving.Iwant
herto be shockedandthenscream,to do thisI raisedhereyebrow,duplicatedthe frame,added
white aroundhereye tomake it wider,duplicatedthe frame,made hermouthopen,duplicatedthe
frame and thenframe byframe addedin‘AHHHHHHHH!!!’ now I am ready tomove on aftereaster,I
was worriedImightnotget itfinishedbutIdidand I am happyaboutit, I am excitedtobe able to
continue forwardsfromhere onout.I do notthinkthere isanythingthatneedstweakingasof yet,
but I will findoutwhenIsenditinfor feedback.

Today wasmy 4th
dayof productionasI was nothere yesterdaydue tovisitingauniversity.AsIam
quite familiaratthispointwithmyprojectandthe path its goingon,I knew thatI neededtodoto
start the secondsectionof the animation,startingwiththe firstframe of ‘gameplay.’thissectionof
animationtakesplace behindanapartmentbuildingandfeaturesAri jumpingfromthe topof the
windowtoanother,Irais showninthe reflectionof awindow cheeringheron.I beganbydrawing
the background,the windowsfirst.Ibeganbyjustdrawinga window,butIrealisedthatthe scale
was off whenputagainstthe characters,so I lookedupa reference image of the ps4spidermanas
that iswhat came to mindwhenI thoughtof windowsandcharacters.Thisshowedme how big
people usuallyare comparedtowindows. Ithenputthe image I tooka drawingof Ari frommy
experimentsanddrewthe window aroundher.AfterthisIdecidedtodothe main part of the
background,a brickwall that will take upmostof the space inthe background.Thistookquite a
while asI couldnotfigure outthe bestway to approachthe taskand execute it,thankfullythough
aftergettinga base downI manage to create the base.I thencopy andpastedthe windowsacross
the wall.To adddetail,Iwentthroughand colouredthe bricksseveral typesof redandI alsoadded
detailstothe windowslike aplantpot,curtainsanda blind.

4. For the animationitself,asIsaidin an earlierstatement,Iwasgoingto use whatI had animatedin
my experimentsratherthango throughand animate the same thingagain.So,I tookthe jumping
animationIhad done earlierandmovedthe differentframestomake herjumpbetweentwo
windows.Inthe rightcorneras I saidearlieryoucan see the othercharacter Ira inthe reflectionof a
window,throughoutthe sequence she isjuststoodthere soatthe endof the jumpingsequenceI
wantedherto do something.Idecidedonhavingherraise herarms incongratulationtoherpartner,
I thoughtthiswouldbe quite cute andshow theirfriendship.
Tomorrowim goingto start on the secondlot of animation,whichfeaturesthe characterinthe
sewersbutonIra’s side sothe viewercanget a goodideaa of whather worldlookslike.Idonot
have any immediateimprovementtomake andwill make adjustmentsafterfeedbackisgiven.
