4. A large company in the Plumbing
and valves market sector.
Pegler Yorkshire have 5
manufacturing sites in Leeds,
Doncaster, Budapest, Jiangmen and
Saint-denis.
Due to providing a large amount of
products to Public buildings, its
need to produce BIM models to
provide information for architects.

7. A variety of Modelling and Technical drawing tasks
which have range from:
New Adaption's Revisions
Carrying out CFD on some of those models to
determine size changes and their outcome.
Testing new tools and Pipes like 45º REMs jaw which is
newly produced and powder coated aluminium tube.
8. During this time on placement I have helped by testing
equipment from other manufacturers.
The 45º REMS tools.
Also I have tested some subjects from suppliers as well.
The powder coated Aluminium tubing.
9. I attended numerous off-site training.
The first was 2 – days of training for BIM
modelling.
I also went to BSria which was a half day course
of networking and being BIM level 2 compliant
for the upcoming 2016 deadline.
BSria are a company that liaise between new
standards and Ensuring companies are working
towards those standards.
During the last month I attended the Annual
Autodesk conference which entailed a day of
presentations about the products and updates
hosted by Symetri.
11. Building Information Modelling – The use of different assets
(information/parameters) through the use of models and
information drops to make the building design – production –
life cycle more efficient and coordinated throughout the
different stages.
12. Due to providing a large amount of products to Public
buildings, its need to produce BIM models to provide
information for architects.
This requires being BIM level 2 complaint by 2016.
Our BIM Models are Revit Family files (.rfa).
Currently they are only geometry without any
background information.
13. The Entire Range of Tectite has been completed.
Copper Xpress has been produced however the other
materials are still to be modelled.
The Valves in mainly the press fit category are being modelled
and the push fit versions are being fixed or checked.
14. These models can need different amount of programming
depending on if they are single families or for a routed system
15. If they are basic models then the amount of programming can be
very little but the same amount of data when it is acquired.
16. The more advanced programmed models can
even have their own messages built within
17. Throughout the BIM
Project I have had to
measure a large range
of valves and fittings.
This dimensional
archive is then been
used for the models.
18. I have been the key part of
the development of the
BIM Project.
I have run various CFD
simulations.
I also helped renovate the
Lab for future demos to
customers.
19. Using the amount of different code and
combinations of code I have been able
to start learning other code languages
like Java in my spare time.
Due to being the only person in the
office using Revit I have been problem
solving and finding a way through the
errors by myself.
I have become more independent when
I need to be enabling me to concentrate
on my work.
20. Improved my skills and methods.
Experienced industry from a different views
and learnt about other industries as well.
An enhanced CV.
Government and other industry links.
A years experience.
Editor's Notes
Pegler were founded by Both Frank Pegler and Fred Birchall. Shortly after that the Belmont works were built and throughout this it became the heart of the modern Pegler site. During this time to the present the chimney was erected and became a listed building essentially becoming a landmark in which is visible throughout Doncaster.
