2. Wellington Shire Council are hosting the inaugural Gippsland
Regional Park Managers Meeting. This forum aims to bring
together all levels of park staff from Gippsland’s LGA’s to listen to
and discuss topics and issues relevant to the management of our
parks and open spaces.
It will be a great opportunity to listen to some interesting
presenters, meet your counterparts in neighbouring Council’s and
contribute to discussions to make our industry better across the
region.
Agpower will have a Trade Display set up with opportunity to discuss your
requirements with Salespeople.

Rob Anderson, CEO of People and Parks
Foundation, alongside Tony Tranter, Manager
Active Living at Greater Shepparton City Council,
will discuss the successful Get Mooving program
and Active in Parks collaboration.
John Arnott, Manager Horticulture at Royal Botanic
Gardens Victoria, will present the trends in
horticulture with the climate outlook in mind.
Play and active spaces play an important role in the
health and well-being of our community, and
a_space Managing Director, Dean Joel, has a
passion for creating the environment that enhances
the opportunity to participate in active recreation.
Wellington Shire Council are currently
undertaking a review of the operations of Parks
Services. Chris Nock, Park Asset Officer and Darren
Randle, Coordinator Parks Services, will present
information on the determination of service areas
and the service standards implemented to both the
horticulture and mowing areas of operations.
Melbourne Water is the second largest public land
holder to the Crown. Making their space available
for the community is important for maintaining
and improving Melbourne’s liveability where
access to quality open space is at a premium.
Turf areas are highly valued by the community as
they contribute to open space, recreation and help
protect the environment. Steve Cole, General
Manager of Lilydale Instant Lawn, will present on
the importance of grass selection and water
management.
