5 Back to Homeschool Ideas

  1. 1. 5 Back To Homeschool Ideas For Homeschooling High School
  2. 2. LetsHomeschoolHighschool.com is the premier website for the homeschool high school community. We offer forums for both parents and students, easy-to-browse information about high school homeschooling and post-graduation preparation, and tons of free printable that you can download and use today. Stop by our main site to see all that we have to offer!
  3. 3. Let’s get started!
  4. 4. #1 If this is your first year homeschooling then CONGRATULATIONS on making this choice! I strongly recommend looking through our Absolute Beginners Guide to Homeschooling High School. Think of it as a Homeschooling 101 class. It will help you and your parents know what to do to get started on this exciting journey.
  5. 5. #2 If you are a veteran of homeschooling, then have a back to homeschool kick-off party. After a summer of vacations get back together with your homeschool friends from co-op classes, enrichment classes, and homeschool groups to get re-acquainted. If you know of some new teen homeschoolers invite them! The more the merrier. Bonus - Plan your get-together AFTER public schools have started; it will be a lot less crowded.
  6. 6. Have fun!
  7. 7. Go shopping! Shopping for school supplies isn’t just for students in public school. Who doesn’t love a new notebook? Check out the advertisements for the deals you can get this time of the year. If you have been able to create a homeschool ID card, then there are many places that offer student discounts. Check these out! They include school supplies, clothing, and even restaurants. If your mom is doing the shopping, she can use her teacher ID for similar discounts. #3
  8. 8. Have a back to school photo shoot. Better yet, start a yearbook/smashbook for the year ahead. Join forces with your siblings and parents to make it a book worth remembering! #4
  9. 9. #5 Volunteer. Find opportunities in your community or church to serve others monthly (or even weekly if time allows). Visit the elderly that may not have family nearby. Serve meals at a soup kitchen, go to the animal shelter and walk the dogs, or spend time with the cats. The ideas are limitless for volunteering, and the time you spend will make a difference to those in need. Also, don’t forget to log your hours since colleges are interested in seeing community service hours.
