• The construction of the simple present (Present Simple) English is really easy,
having the structure:
[SUBJECT] + [VERB] (infinitive without to)
•
Please note:
If the subject is 3rd person singular is added a '-s "to the verb.
• For verbs ending in "-o", "- sh", "-ch", "ss", "-x", "z", "-y" "-is" is added instead of
"- s for the 3rd person singular. "
• I work with my father in the newspaper
Yo trabajo con mi padre en el periódico
• I read the bible every day
Yo leo la biblia cada día
• I watch the tv in the night
Yo veo la tv en la noche
• I see my girlfriend every friday
Yo veo a mi novia cada viernes
• I like the music of Green Day
Me gusta la música de Green Day
• I sometimes _______ (go) to work by car.
• They always _______ (eat) dinner at 7 o'clock.
• Valerie _______ (study) English at university.
• _______ he _______ (want) to eat?
• Matthew never _______ (watch) television.
.
• The structure of "simple past" (Simple Past Tense) in English is:
[SUBJECT] + [VERB IN PAST, TERMINATION "-ed"]
• Construction of the past
As a general rule, to form the past in English "-ed" is added to a verb.
➜worked
• The formation of negation in "simple past" is simpler than the assertion.
Its structure is:
[SUBJECT] + did + not + [infinitive]
We show you a couple of examples:
I do not I sang
He did not sing
• 1. Did you eat meat? (¿Comiste carne?).
2. No, I didn’t eat meat. (No, yo no comí carne).
3. I liked the fruits. (Me gustaron las frutas).
4. I listened to music. (Yo escuché música).
5. She ran every morning. (Ella corría cada mañana).

7. They did it. (Ellos lo hicieron).
8. He was there. (Él estuvo ahí).
9. We thought so. (Lo pensamos).

• The film (be) ……………….. boring.
• The president (speak) ……………….. very slow during the conference.
• Sarah (sing) ……………….. perfectly in the concert.
• Peter (decide) ……………….. to paint the house blue
• The simple (Future Simple) English future forms with the structure:
SUBJECT + will / Shall + VERB
Note: The auxiliary Shall only used for the first person singular and plural.
While the auxiliary can be used will in all cases.
.
• English contractions are common
Pronouns and auxiliary will contract in the following ways:
Conjugation Meaning:
I'll work yo trabajaré
• you'll work tú trabajarás
• he'll work él trabajarás
• we'll work nosotros trabajaremos
• you'll work vosotros trabajareis

3 (You not stay)------- tonight?
4 My boyfriend (write)------- a book about medicine

5 (You wear)------- a jacket for the baptism?
• The past perfect English Spanish corresponds to the pluperfect. In general,
we use it for actions that occurred before another action in the past.
• As in the present perfect, past perfect is formed with the auxiliary verb "to
have" and the past participle. The auxiliary verb will last.
Conjugación: Significado:
I have played yo he jugado
you have played tú has jugado
he has played él ha jugado
we have played
nosotros hemos
jugado
you have played
vosotros habéis
jugado
they have played ellos han jugado

Notes:
1.The written lesson is below.
2.Links to quizzes, tests, etc. are to the left.
The past perfect is formed by combining the auxiliary verb "had" with the past participle.
I had studied.
He had written a letter to María.
We had been stranded for six days.
Because the past perfect is a compound tense, two verbs are required: the main verb and the auxiliary verb.
• I had read something
• Yo había leido algo
She had talked somebody
• Ella había hablado a alguien
• I had not read something
• Yo no había leído algo
She had not talked somebody
• Ella no había hablado a alguien
• Betty _____ (work) in a bank before she _____ (go) back to school.
• I _____ already _____ (drink) two cups of coffee by the time my
husband ____ (wake up).
• She _____ (enjoy) the beach when it _____ (start) to rain.
• I _____ (be) exhausted because I _____ (sleep, not) well.
• Andy told us he _____ (mean) to call us for weeks.
.
• The Future or "future perfect" is used for actions or states to be completed in a given time in the
future.
Usually accompanied by the preposition "by" (for / to) or adverbial phrase "by the time" (the
time).
• Notes:
• The written lesson is below.
• Links to quizzes, tests, etc. are to the left.
•
As with the other perfect tenses, the future perfect is formed by combining the auxiliary verb
"haber" with the past participle. In this case, "haber" is conjugated in the future tense.
• In the summer, we will have earned enough money.
• Will we have bought the car in September?
• My aunt won’t have graduated this year.
• At this rhythm, you will have written one book for Christmas.
• My car will have serviced for weekend.
• Before midnight, I will have won three chess matches.
• Susan won’t have finished the work at six o’clock.
• Conjugate the verb in brackets into Future:
• If I did not call at ten will surely because (have / I) ______ any impairment.
If you have not contacted you is because they do not (get / them) _____yet.
Surely the function (end)______ as.
By now (go / you)_______ at work.
I think this time we all (learning)______ the lesson.
