• As deputy Lab manager, I managed all Team Leaders and worked with them to develop a laboratory
environment and culture that enabled the delivery of a high quality, low cost testing service
• Ensured the laboratory complied with key operating standards e.g. CAP, ISO9001, & CPA/ ISO15189. As
one of the first employees, I helped set this up across the lab
• Targeted laboratory profitability by increasing productivity and reducing the cost of testing.
• Accountability for customer problem identification and resolution.
• Drive continuous quality, cost, and service improvements by developing and managing key performance
metrics such as TAT, TNP, CAP proficiency pass rates, Cost of Testing, Lost samples, amended reports
and appropriate productivity measures.
• Worked with both UK Diagnostic Sales and CTC sales teams, on UK large Hospital bids, and smaller
private contracts
• Ensured training and competency assessment programs are in place to ensure employees are
appropriately trained and skilled. I evaluated several Training, and document control systems, and helped
implement TMS in Heston.
