1 Scope of application
These Technical Delivery Conditions are applicable to individually forged titanium blanks for
highly stressed impellers to be installed in turbocompressors and expansion turbines.
Material: Ti6Al4V WL 3.7164.1
Chemical composition (% by weight):

3 Description
Supplier: Messrs. or equivalent supplier after evidence of qualification has been produced.
4 Requirements
4.1 Steel-making process
The initial material must be melted by means of a process which reduces impurities and oxide inclu-
sions to a minimum and results in their presence in only finely-divided quantities.
4.2 Degree of forging
The material must be re-forged several times to finally obtain a dynamically balanced grain.
4.3 Heat-treatment state
The specified material must be subjected to a suited heat treatment to obtain the characteristics called
for in these Technical Delivery Conditions.
4.4 Mechanical-technological characteristics
For small blanks, the specimens to determine their mechanical-technological values must be taken
from forged-on test discs. For bigger blanks, these specimens must be made from a ring located out-
side the blank (refer also to sketch about the location of specimens with corresponding order-specific
dimensions). The specimens for both the test discs and the test ring may only be separated subsequent
to the ultimate work step (heat treatment), unless otherwise specified on an order-related basis. The
following mechanical-technological characteristics must be determined once per production batch and
heat-treatment batch (minimum values at room temperature, reference thickness of blank 100 mm):

• Dimensions as ordered
4.5 Surface quality
The surface must be turned to the ordered dimension. Surface quality must comply with Ra≤20µm
with tolerances as per DIN 7168 (mean).
4.5.1Non-destructive tests
1. Ultrasonic test as per SEP 1923.
Test scope: B4 and B5, table 1B (100 % of both plane surfaces and 100 % of peripheral
surface)
Assessment: Quality class 3b except for decision limit for real reflector length 2b.
Summary of assessment criteria:
• Indication without extended reflector: Registration level KSR 2 mm
Rejection limit KSR 4 mm
• Indication with extended reflector: Registriation level KSR 2 mm
Rejection limit KSR 4 mm
Back echo decrease max. 4 dB
Rejection level for real extension determined by
means of half-amplitude method, ≤ 10 mm
2. Visual inspection of surface
Scope 100 %
Assessment:
− Any kind of indications is inadmissible;
− Grooves, scores etc. are permissible, if they are still within the permitted surface rough-
ness.

6 Inspection and quality documentation
The inspection certificate to EN 10204/3.1 has to include the following test data:
- Heat No.
- Chemical composition
- Mechanical-technological values of destructive material test
- Certificate on heat treatment including data on heat treatment in delivery state
- Records of non-destructive test

Quality documentation Preferably files of quality documents as per QSV-WQC-04 should be e-
mailed to quality@zuudee.cn, hardcopies to be sent to Zuudee
BYD Titanium, dept. WQ, whenever e-mailing of files is impossible.

7 Planning and operating documentation
- Not applicable -
8 Delivery method
The blanks must be carefully and duly packed and shipped as per the state-of-the-art methods
applicable to blanks.
9 Identification
Identification data must be stamped on the front side of the blank, provided with a coloured, weather-
proof frame applied in paint and contain the following information:
• Material code
• Heat number
• Specimen number
• Top and bottom per end of blank
• Manufacturer’s sign
• Material number
• ACE order number stated in the order form
• Engraving
•
10 Warranty and penalties
If and when errors are detected on the blank in the course of machining, ACE shall reserve the right to
return any non-conforming material.
Any and all deviations from these Technical Delivery Conditions shall be permissible only after prior
approval of a corresponding application for deviation has been given.

TECHNICAL DELIVERY CONDITIONS LIEFERVORSCHRIFT Zuudee BYD Titanium Forged titanium blanks for impellers Drawing No. / Zeichnungs-Nr. zdbyd3215 Page 2 / 4 3 Description Supplier: Messrs. or equivalent supplier after evidence of qualification has been produced. 4 Requirements 4.1 Steel-making process The initial material must be melted by means of a process which reduces impurities and oxide inclu- sions to a minimum and results in their presence in only finely-divided quantities. 4.2 Degree of forging The material must be re-forged several times to finally obtain a dynamically balanced grain. 4.3 Heat-treatment state The specified material must be subjected to a suited heat treatment to obtain the characteristics called for in these Technical Delivery Conditions. 4.4 Mechanical-technological characteristics For small blanks, the specimens to determine their mechanical-technological values must be taken from forged-on test discs. For bigger blanks, these specimens must be made from a ring located out- side the blank (refer also to sketch about the location of specimens with corresponding order-specific dimensions). The specimens for both the test discs and the test ring may only be separated subsequent to the ultimate work step (heat treatment), unless otherwise specified on an order-related basis. Surface quality must comply with Ra≤20µm with tolerances as per DIN 7168 (mean). 4.5.1Non-destructive tests 1. Ultrasonic test as per SEP 1923. Test scope: B4 and B5, table 1B (100 % of both plane surfaces and 100 % of peripheral surface) Assessment: Quality class 3b except for decision limit for real reflector length 2b. Summary of assessment criteria: • Indication without extended reflector: Registration level KSR 2 mm Rejection limit KSR 4 mm • Indication with extended reflector: Registriation level KSR 2 mm Rejection limit KSR 4 mm Back echo decrease max. 4 dB Rejection level for real extension determined by means of half-amplitude method, ≤ 10 mm 2. Visual inspection of surface Scope 100 % Assessment: − Any kind of indications is inadmissible; − Grooves, scores etc. are permissible, if they are still within the permitted surface rough- ness. − 3. TECHNICAL DELIVERY CONDITIONS LIEFERVORSCHRIFT Forged titanium blanks for impellers Drawing No. / Zeichnungs-Nr. zdbyd3215 Page 4 / 4 6 Inspection and quality documentation The inspection certificate to EN 10204/3.1 has to include the following test data: - Heat No. - Chemical composition - Mechanical-technological values of destructive material test - Certificate on heat treatment including data on heat treatment in delivery state - Records of non-destructive test - Quality documentation Preferably files of quality documents as per QSV-WQC-04 should be e- mailed to quality@zuudee.cn, hardcopies to be sent to Zuudee BYD Titanium, dept. WQ, whenever e-mailing of files is impossible. Required languages Germanand English 7 Planning and operating documentation - Not applicable - 8 Delivery method The blanks must be carefully and duly packed and shipped as per the state-of-the-art methods applicable to blanks. 9 Identification Identification data must be stamped on the front side of the blank, provided with a coloured, weather- proof frame applied in paint and contain the following information: • Material code • Heat number • Specimen number • Top and bottom per end of blank • Manufacturer’s sign • Material number • ACE order number stated in the order form • Engraving • 10 Warranty and penalties If and when errors are detected on the blank in the course of machining, ACE shall reserve the right to return any non-conforming material.
